Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipmentincluding plows/trenchers, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, and front-end loadersto support construction and project-related activities. Qualification Standards Operate heavy equipmentincluding plows/trenchers, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, and front-end loaderssafely and efficiently to support construction activities. Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe operation and report any issues or required repairs. Conduct basic maintenance on equipment such as greasing, lubrication, and fluid checks. Follow site-specific safety protocols and company procedures at all times. Collaborate with site supervisors and crew members to meet project goals and schedules. Read and interpret grade stakes and project specifications as needed for accurate operation. Adapt to various weather conditions and physically demanding work environments. Work independently while maintaining a team-oriented, safety-focused mindset. Perform other duties as assigned, including labor tasks when equipment is not in use. Physical and Safety Requirements Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy and pass any required physical exams. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads). Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces. Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
