Responsibilities The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. 2. Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program or equivalent on-the-job training with documented competency required. 3. Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician required. 4. BLS certification within forty-five days of hire and maintained current, according to hospital requirement. 5. Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.
