    SUPERVISES:

    There are no direct reports with this position.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under close supervision, Grounds Maintenance Laborer/Gardener maintains landscaped areas, roads, and parking lots of assigned facilities. Employees in this job perform work to assure grounds are maintained in safe and pristine condition. This job class requires knowledge of landscaping practices, procedures, supplies and equipment and the ability to perform landscaping job functions in a safe and timely manner.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    1. *Mows lawns with walking-types or riding mowers. Aerates and removes thatch.

    2. *Uses a weed eater, and pulls weeds and maintains flower beds.

    3. *Uses a blower and manually picks up trash, leaves, limbs, and provides a clean and neat appearance of the grounds.

    4. *Trims hedges and shrubs, edges around walks, flower beds, buildings and walls using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools to maintain overall appearance of landscape vegetation and grounds.

    5. *Prunes shrubs and trees using shears and saws.

    6. *Monitors equipment used and reports any malfunction or other issues.

    7. *Travel between facilities and work locations may be required.

    8. *May monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure that vegetation is properly irrigated.

    9. *May apply fertilizer, weed killer, and necessary pesticides.

    10. *May be required to drive company pick-up or small dump truck.

    11. *May complete basic paperwork and calculate materials and time.

    12. *Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. May include snow removal, surface salting, and repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment. May clean comfort stations, offices workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    •One year of work experience in grounds maintenance, or knowledge of grounds maintenance standards, techniques and materials;

    •Proper use of PPE;

    •Ability to identify and work safely with appropriate manual and power tools, mechanical and electrical equipment, to the task assigned;

    •Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities;

    •Ability to be flexible due to change of schedule, work duration and tasks;

    •Communicate and work collaboratively and professionally on a team with various skill levels, and of various ethnic, religious, cultural and other backgrounds, and demonstrate good customer service skills.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    High School Diploma or GED

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

    •Standing and walking

    •Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and shoveling

    •Lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds

    •Pushing or pulling equipment weighing up to 75 pounds

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed at a customer’s location on job sites in a construction environment with various tools, and mechanical, electrical and construction equipment. Transporting to work locations within the site. At times, may be required to work in confined spaces. Employees may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat. Travel between facilities and work locations may be required.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Under general supervision, the HVAC Mechanic performs a variety of technical tasks related to installing, maintaining and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation and related systems.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:
    1. *Monitor and adjust the full range of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment by means of an energy management system.
    2. *Perform hands-on work; write, modify, code, analyze, enhance and debug EMS computer control software programming.
    3. *Train others in the use of controls software programming; set up, troubleshoot, repair, test and calibrate electronic components for EMS computer control.
    4. *Troubleshoot, maintain, modify and repair heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and equipment including DX (direct expansion) and hydronic systems.
    5. *Troubleshoot, maintain, modify and repair fans and fan motors, pumps and pump motors, electric and pneumatic controls, safety controls, overcurrent and other equipment protection devices.
    6. *Follows procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks;
    7. Mounts compressor and condenser units, uses hand and metalworking tools and welding equipment, follows blueprints or engineering specifications;
    8. Fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts;
    9. Installs evaporator units in chassis or in air-duct systems;
    10. *Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Installs humidifiers into system and connects water and drain pipes. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
    11. *Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools. Cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment. Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant.
    12. *May install, repair and service air conditioners, ranging from 15 to 20 tons cooling capacity. Monitors and inspects heating and cooling systems to ensure continued proper operation.
    13. *Investigates problems and performs repairs on various mechanical and electrical equipment in heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
    14. *Performs preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems. Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation.
    15. Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
    16. Tests joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solution. Assesses drain problems and performs any needed repairs.
    17. *Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source.
    18. *Determines amount of airflow required to keep carbon dioxide at a safe level and ensures it is maintained.
    19. *Locates, picks up, and delivers parts required for department needs.
    20. *Assists in monitoring the work of journeyman or new HVAC mechanics by providing instruction and reviewing completed projects.
    21. *May prepare work sketches and assist in the design and specifications of planned work.
    22. Frequent travel between facilities is required.
    23. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Five years of work experience in HVAC/refrigeration equipment installation, repair and maintenance;
    • Knowledge of refrigeration theory, Air and Hydronic Balancing, Booleon Logic, and electronics.
    • Experience with energy audits, absorption and screw chillers.
    • Refrigeration license may be required.
    • Knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems, and ability to read and understand blueprints;
    • Requires knowledge of regulations regarding HVAC including environmental and indoor air quality, and skilled HVAC work, with attention to safe practices.
    • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding HVAC repair and maintenance for occupied spaces;
    • Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities;
    • Ability to estimate time and materials, and manage resources;
    • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills;
    • Ability to work safely;
    • Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately;
    • Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and to follow instructions;
    • Flexibility to build effective working relationships with staff, customers and others;
    • Ability to travel to various facilities, and to work independently and as a team.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Under broad supervision, oversees activities in the management of nuisance pests, disease, vector and health pest, structure damaging pests or organisms, lawn turf and ornamental plant pests, vegetation, invertebrate and vertebrate pests using chemical solutions, toxic gases, powders, pastes or baits, and mechanical traps. Plans and provides day to day guidance for appropriate corrections and treatments. This position may work in multiple locations.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:
    1. *Serves as an informational and technical resource regarding pest control services to field personnel and various customers.
    2. *Determine types of infestation based on observation and/or testing.
    3. *Determine appropriate treatment method, process, and materials required.
    4. *Coordinate with Pest Control lead, Pest Control manager, site manager and/or grounds crews for application schedule.
    5. *Ensure that all pesticides are used in accordance with their labeling and safely stored in a secure location not accessible to non-authorized personnel and disposed of in a legal manner.

    7. *May be required to maintain a database on all pesticide application per state and federal regulations.
    8. *Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas.
    9. *Use of sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment.
    10. Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities.
    11. *May be required to safely set, move, and release mechanical traps to kill or trap pests.
    12. May clean areas that harbor pests, using rakes, brooms, shovels, and/or mops preparatory to treatment.
    13. Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under general supervision, the Production Control Clerk provides customer service assistance for both internal and external customer’s work requirements as related to government facilities. This position requires an understanding of work control standards and practices used while serving as the primary focus for internal and external customers. This position may receive technical guidance from a higher level clerk or supervisor. Work is checked frequently for accuracy and compliance with standards and practices.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    1. *Provide single-point customer service by interacting with customers, vendors and co-workers to facilitate, identify and schedule work requirements;2. *Compile and record production of facilities and customer data by executing work based upon written and verbal work requirements;3. *Coordinate, control and schedule work to include processing work requests, work authorization documents, utility shutdowns and support service;4. *Reviews and conducts inspection of files and database entries to ensure that all documents are current, accurate and complete;5. *Coordinate with tenant commands to resolve issues that involve good order and discipline resulting in damages to facilities;6. *Prepare, review, issue, monitor and update forms for various functions related to work control of facilities and/or facility occupancy;7. *Where required, conduct inspection functions in various barracks facilities which house Marines and Sailors and coordinate with Facilities Maintenance Division when facilities need repair or maintenance while tracking all submitted work requests through completion;8. *Provides coordination of data for various government customers and systems;9. *Where required, act as a liaison between the UPH Division, Resident Support Office, barracks residents and unit leadership;10. *Where required, assign, terminate, and maintain inspections of work performed by the Facilities Maintenance Division and/or contractors in permanent party and transient quarters;11. *Monitor and track all maintenance based on work requests entered into the system and submit work requests for necessary repairs;12. *Where required, perform quarters inspections with new occupants and periodic recurring inspections of common areas and grounds to ensure proper condition;13. *Frequently travel between facilities;14.     There are direct reports with this position.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under limited supervision, the Payroll Supervisor performs a variety of payroll tax, accounting and reporting duties. Employees in this job class analyze, develop, implement and administer payroll policies, procedures and systems in addition supervising the payroll processing team. This job class requires extensive knowledge of multi-state and federal wage and hour laws, reporting, regulations and compliance requirements and an in-depth knowledge of company and department business systems.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    1. *Provides training to other Payroll Analysts, schedules their work/projects when needed, performs quality control on work performed by others on team.2. *Leads researching and analyzing of complex issues surrounding payroll, payroll tax and accounting processes and systems.3. *Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the performance of employees.4. *Make recommendations for process improvements efficiencies. Collaborates with other internal departments to ensure business requirements are met. Proposes and documents payroll procedures and policy. Creates communication and training plans and implements improvements.5. *Takes the lead in auditing and validating quarterly and annual payroll tax returns; federal, state, local and SUI. Research and resolve tax discrepancies each pay period, including annual W-2 and FICA analysis.6. *Coordinates requests for internal and external audits. Reviews requests for data from auditors, state or federal agencies and determines what data to provide. Compiles data systematically, where possible, and reviews for accuracy. Ensures that information is released in accordance with company policy and department procedures.7. *Assists team in responding to inquiries about payroll data and procedures. Resolves issues related to compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Designs and produces a variety of payroll, salary, and benefit reports for management. Reviews reports with requester to ensure specifications and determines specific data, formats and formula requirements to meet business need.8. *Ensures consistent payroll practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of the payroll, time collection, and GL systems.9. *Performs detailed analysis of data and metrics to identify trends. Creates and implements plans to ensure accuracy of processes, techniques, and systems.10. *Assists with payroll tax notices, quarter and year end balancing.11. *Assists in communicating new system implementations or upgrades, payroll processes, and procedures.12. *Leads periodic system audits to ensure accurate payroll records and to monitor salary and benefit related data.13. *Ensures team stays up to date on Federal and State regulations to ensure company compliance. Requires independent use of payroll internet resources, seminars and networking with other payroll professionals.14. *Assists with Banking and Positive Pay transactions15. Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    •Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related field or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience;•Certified Payroll Professional preferred;•Seven or more years of payroll processing experience;•Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;•Knowledge of rules and regulations of Section 125 benefit plans, 401K, pension, and other qualified or non-qualified benefit programs;•Knowledge of multi-state and federal wage and hour laws and regulations, including interpretations;•In-depth understanding of features and functions of an automated payroll system and time collection system;•Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;•Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;•Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;•Effective customer service skills;•Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;•Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;•Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common-sense skills.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelors- Accounting or related field

    A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.
