    The Maintenance Facility Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and overall functionality of three distribution facilities. This role executes maintenance work orders to manage building operations, coordinates inspections, and daily repair and maintenance tasks to ensure all properties remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee structural maintenance of three facilities, including entryways, walkways, dock doors, heating

    systems, lighting, and electrical panels.

    • Perform routine and weekly maintenance tasks (e.g., forklift battery water distribution, sprinkler drum

    drainage, drainage to air compressor).

    • Complete minor plumbing and general facility repairs; assemble and relocate furniture as needed.

    • Coordinate fire sprinkler and fire extinguisher inspections and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

    • Maintain exterior grounds and oversee dumpster and waste services.

    .  Work in the capacity of a Facility Handy Man

    Qualifications

    1.0 Main Function

    Create constancy of purpose toward improvement of product and service to meet and exceed the customer’s needs.

    Responsible for checking orders running through-out the plant against President Containers Groups product specifications, quality standards and systems.

    2.0 Duties and Responsibilities

    Perform a closed loop checking procedure from corrugators through converting machines on orders produced. (Start at corrugator and follow order through the plant).Check quality standards on jobs as they are running through the plant.Check product being produced at machine centers against factory tickets, print cards and Mylar’s.Check sheets from corrugator for caliper, dimensions, scores and correct board grade (white/kraft).On converting machines perform the following quality checks.Measuring score to score panels and flaps of carton.Check that print matches print card and all instructions on factory ticket.Check that color matches GCMI, PMS or Special Color match.Check that cartons have proper glue lay-down and fibre pull.Check that cartons can be made up correctly.Check that cartons have proper manufacture’s glue gap.Check proper caliper attained.Check bundle and unit count is correct.Check that correct dunnage placement and pallet pattern.Check that employees are properly performing quality checks at machine centers hourly.Complete Certificate of Analysis/Compliance when applicable.Perform checks on measuring equipment, where applicable, (micrometers, pH Meters, zahn cups), using calibrated equipment and/or company standards.Monitor Clear Vision Glue Check System – where applicable, report any problems with the equipment.Check rework log sheet to ensure any product in rework area is properly recorded.Perform any quality tests when necessary.Comply with company policies and procedures.Additional duties as assigned by management.

     

     

    3.0 Education and/or Experience

    High School Graduate

    Minimum 3 years experience in related field

    Computer literate

    Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

    2 years of experience in corrugated packaging industry.

    2 years of experience in the Quality discipline (TQM, SPC, ISO 9000)

     

    4.0 Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.

    5.0 Technical Skills

    The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

    Ability to read company specifications for product being produce.

    Have working knowledge of quality standards for inspection purposes.

    Read graphic print cards against product being produced for correct print application.

    Able to perform measurements using a tape measure accurately.

    Ability to perform mathematical problems to ensure correct bundle and unit counts.

    Able to communicate effectively, with management, supervisors and co-workers.

    6.0 Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    7.0 Work Environment

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job.

    Personal growth - while the company will provide the tools to assist the employee to grow professionally the responsibility for moving forward lies with the individual. Each year there will be goals developed and agreed to by the supervisor and his/her superior.

     

    Employee relations - through observations the Employee will be evaluated regarding his/her and his/her reporting skills and advancements in the areas of motivational techniques and results, positive and corrective/constructive feedback; subordinate development and creating a positive work environment.

    · Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

    · Be able to recall orders in computer system, set up, make adjustments, and to produce cartons to a level of 80% of that specific machine’s capabilities.

    · Understand and ensure that all of the information on the factory ticket, print layout, and cutting die layout is accurate, and matches the order being produced.

    · Inspect anilox rolls for damage, before and after each run.

    · Inspect all cutting dies and printing plates before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.

    · Set-up folding rails and print and/or die cut sections of flexo accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques, ensuring all bolts on cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.

    · Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, print clarity and registration, die cut pressure and registration, and carton squareness during the production run as required to comply with our quality process and procedures.

    · Monitor ink ph. and viscosity, for maximum ink performance.

    · Must take caliper readings of material before going through the press, after it travels through the press, and document readings on quality sheets.

    · Must be able to set up, run, monitor, and adjust all settings for the pre-feeder, which feeds material into the machine.

    · Must be able to set up, adjust and understand all functions of the Clear Vision Glue System (where applicable)

    · Must be able to set up the feed table to maximize productivity during production runs.

    · Must be able to clean, change, and rebuild doctor blade chamber systems.

    · Must be able to change out ink, and perform wash ups for various orders.

    · Must be able to change or adjust knife configurations to meet all job specifications.

    · Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and optimum speed.

    · Have the ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or

    Illustrated form.

    · Must be able to train the assistant operator to perform operator functions, such as: recall order spec numbers for set ups, make proper adjustments to set up basic RSC cartons, and to be able to produce cartons in the absence of the operator.

    · Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: FFF data, production data on daily production reports, machine operational status, safety data and quality data.

    · Report maintenance issues to supervision for entry into Micro Main.

    · Adhere to production schedule, making recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.

    · Must be able to, and train, others to set up and operate a load former or stack material to make neat organized units that are in compliance with Unit Presentation Process: the proper use of bottom sheets and tie sheets, and the placement of load tags in the proper position.

    Job Summary:

    Oversee all aspects of load planning including, but not limited to: forklift operator movement, truck routing, and reconciliation.

    This is a 3rd shift position (11:00PM - 7:00AM).

    Responsibilities:

    Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including adhering to the safety program, and practicing good housekeeping.

    Monitor and evaluate route for time efficacy and cost.

    Monitor and evaluate the safe and efficient loading process of freight throughout the shift.Inspect finished product periodically after loading to ensure high quality standards.Manage Return Goods.Manage finished items on the floor to insure jobs are being appointed and moved in a timely manner.Create delivery receipts for all loads once it has been confirmed the loads is complete and he have confirmation on a delivery.Inform the Logistics Manager of any problems or situations that may negatively impact the performance of the department or Company.Adhere to the daily production schedules and make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.Communicate with other shift supervisors to avoid conflicts between shift changes.Establish high morale within the department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems while maintaining confidentiality.

    · Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees all employees assigned to the shipping dock. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; team building; coaching and leading employees to improve; addressing complaints and resolving problems; documentation; and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance.

    Requirements:

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or GED. With Reading, Writing and Math skills at a minimum of 10th Grade level.Two years prior shipping experience in a supervisory capacity including truck routing.

    Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

    College and/or related technical experienceTwo years’ experience in Corrugated box industryTwo years’ experience as a Forklift Operator and/or Truck Driver.Two years’ experience dispatching trucks.

    Language Skills

    Able to read and write in English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Technical Skills

    The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

    Able to use Microsoft Suites products.

    Map reading and commercial truck routing.

    Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisor's role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.

    Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.

    Quality standards.

    Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License if experienced as such.

    President Container Group, a leading independent manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging (Sheets, Boxes, Trays, Partitions, Displays etc..) is seeking a full time experienced Electrical / PLC Technician for it’s factory in rural Orange County, NY( Middletown, NY), 60 miles north of New York City (20 miles from New Jersey and Pennsylvania). President Container, the manufacturing arm of PCG, is one of the largest corrugated plants (over 500,000 square feet) in North America. Our state of the art facility has some of the most up-to-date machinery in the industry, and with it we produce in excess of 2.3 billion square feet of corrugated each year. We are committed to producing sustainable packaging that is clean, safe, and protects the environment and the communities in which we live.

    Job Summary:

    Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.

     

    Responsibilities:

    · Practice safe work habits at all times.

    · Demonstrate ability to repair and maintain machinery.

    · Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.

    · Follow up on all work in order to insure repairs and work are performed properly.

    · Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly and in accordance with company guidelines.

    · Willingly work all necessary hours and shifts.

    · Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.

    · Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety.

    · Additional duties may be assigned by management.

     

    Requirements:

    · High school diploma or GED is required.

    · Must have experience with manufacturing type machinery - understanding of Gear Boxes, Large Motors, Drives, PLC’s, Encoders, 480v, and Photo Eyes.

    · Both belted and roller conveyor knowledge is a plus.

    · Knowledge of any of the machinery in the corrugated packaging industry (Flexos, Die Cutters) is a plus.

    · Must have ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
