    Job Description MISSION: To assure in-process visual and dimensional quality of all wax components using a variety of hand tools and automated inspection equipment. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Visual Inspection. Objective: to identify surface defects and flaws in wax components and tools. * Visually inspects wax patterns prior to cleaning, soluble cores, developmental and prototype assemblies, and tools for surface defects and flaws. * Uses a variety of hand tools to assist in visual inspect. Dimensional Measurement. Objective: to assure dimensional integrity. Typical Activities: * Inspects components using height gauges, micrometers, calipers, ultrasound, 3D scanning tools and other dimensional measuring devices. * Performs Statistical Process Control calculations using pre-established formulas to determine if dimensions are within acceptable ranges or if process is in control. Engineering Support. Objective: to work with and prepare reports for use by engineers in addressing product quality issues. Typical Activities: * Works with engineers to establish and test inspection techniques. * Works with engineers to identify and resolve problems of surface and dimensional defects. * Enters dimensional data into computer for engineering purposes. * Prepares reports and information on dimensional issues as needed.     GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Position supports the manufacturing process by removing shell material from cast molds. Removing the pour cup, separating the individual part from the mold by method of oxy/acetylene torch cutting. Sorts and segregates scrap material by alloy type.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    * Prepare molds for removal of pour cup, by utilizing forklift, hand held air guns, hammers, and/or jackhammer.

    * Operate Waterblast cabinet, to aid in removal of shell material from molds.

    * Utilize an oxy/acetylene-cutting torch to separate part(s) from the mold.

    * Operate a variety of belt grinders, or hand held air grinders, to assist in gate removal from casting.

    * Utilize a Tannewitz friction cutting bandsaw, to remove gating and/or test material from molds/parts.

    * Operate a shotblast cabinet, and a sandblast cabinet to remove shell material from inside pocket areas, or hard to access areas.

    * Use of dimensional measuring equipment required when performing certain cut-off operations.

    * Responsible for safe work practices by adhering to safety rules, safely operating all equipment and tools identifies and reports safety problems.

    The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the safe manufacture of company products which may represent a broad diversity of manufacturing processes.     * Responsible to safely manufacture a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments

    * Practice and follow 6s principles daily and maintain the highest level of housekeeping excellence in the department

    * Ensure all safety requirements including the Cardinal Rules of Safety are followed at all times by every employee

    * Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and followed at all times

    * Schedule employees to meet production needs and to ensure vacation/time off are consistent with plant policies
