    Positive Leaps is seeking qualified EMT Medical Staff members to join our team at our West Chester location. This position involves conducting physical and psychological evaluations for children facing behavioral and emotional challenges. As a key member of the child’s support team, the Medical Staff members will play an integral role in helping children successfully transition back to school or daycare, while fostering improvements in their behavior and interpersonal relationships. This is an opportunity to take a proactive, hands-on approach in supporting children who require the most assistance, making a meaningful impact on their development and overall progress.

    Available ongoing Shifts - We are looking for consistency rather than rotating shifts.

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 7:00am to 3:00pmMonday through Friday - 1:00pm to 5:00pm (you can choose all 5 days or 2/3 days per week as long as they are the same days each week).


    Responsibilities:

    Conducts personal and professional business with ethical, legal and moral integrity always.Observes and completes physical and psychological assessments of children following high level behavioral intervention (safe room orders) as outlined in the policy to adhere to OMHAS expectations and standards.Document and report observations, physical and psychological status, and overall intervention assessment on agency forms for the State of Ohio.Supports high level behavioral interventions, as ordered by psychiatric staff, in collaboration with trained agency staff members.Assesses on-site injuries and completes State Incident Reports.Assess unwell children to determine if the child needs to leave daily programming.Audit on-site First Aid kits and coordinate maintenance of supplies.Coordinate with emergency services, as needed, in a crisis by providing first aid or care and communicating with EMS staff as necessary.Interact with children in a professional, positive manner.Adheres to the Positive Leaps Model of care.Adheres to all Positive Leaps Policies and Procedures.Communicate effectively with parents, peers, supervisors and visitors, and maintain confidentiality of children and families in treatment.Creates an atmosphere of enthusiasm and commitment.Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Must possess active State or National EMT Certification.Must be at least 19 years old· Excellent documentation skills.Must be willing to extend hours should a crisis arrive.Must be flexible and adaptable to changes in schedule.Must be reliable with documentation and adhering to expectations.Be willing to collaborate with various team members internally and externally.Must be able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment.

    Exposures and Risks:

    Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.Works directly with physically aggressive children.Exposed to loud noise, such as repeated and prolonged screaming and crying.

    Position Overview

    Positive Leaps specializes in helping children aged 3-8 who demonstrate negative behaviors or need help with emotional regulation. Our Day Treatment Center mimics the look and feel of daycare or early learning center. We provide high staff-to-child ratio, helping children learn emotional and social skills to get them back on track. No former experience working with children is required - we provide all the training necessary for the role!


    Position Overview: Responsible for leading care coordination in collaboration with internal and external supports to ensure cohesive and effective treatment as well as confirm supports are available and active for clients and families to reduce barriers to treatment in an effort to achieve excellent clinical outcomes. This role is great to get experience working with children individually and in groups as well as working to support families.


    Schedule: Full-time schedule of Monday through Friday with flexible hours.

    Essential Duties:

    Facilitate one psychoeducational group per day (2.5 hour group) and complete related summary.Provides case management services to families of all ages of children in community settings, such as schools, daycares, etc. as well as in the home, in the office, and virtually as needed.Assist families in symptom monitoring, case coordination, resource identification, and with other social and treatment needs.Facilitates Prior Authorization and Re-Authorization contact with 3rd party payers, as needed, to ensure financial coverage for clients in treatment.Serves as a point of contact for families, treatment team members, collaborative agencies, and community support.Regularly meets with supervisors and/or treatment team to plan and problem solve for client and family needs.Provides a safe space for clients and families.Interacts with children, families, and other staff members in a professional, positive manner.Exhibits flexibility and adaptability in rapidly changing environments.Supports prescribed clinical treatment by teaching and implementing the Positive Leaps model of care and curriculum or any other prescribed intervention.Prepares, updates, and maintains timely and accurate documentation of clinical data in accordance with Ohio Laws, 3rd party payers, and agency policies.Implements and collects data related to treatment goals and objectives.Consistently meets performance measures including competency indicators and participates in quality assurance activities (data gather, data analysis) for the purpose of continuous quality improvement.Assures consistent implementation of Positive Leaps’ Policies and Procedures.Provides crisis intervention services during or after regular business hours, if the need arisesDemonstrates ethical conduct, in keeping with professional standards set by licensee’s professional board and Positive Leap’ ethical code.Models professional behavior and demeanor, dress and work space organization.Completes assigned tasks as directed by supervisors and within agency timeframes.Performs other duties as assigned.
