    Join Portland Vet Stroudwater and build something new from day one. As our new GP clinic opens its doors, we re seeking a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) to help deliver exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative and expanding environment.

    Anticipated Schedule
    This is a full-time position

    Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays (potential for weekends with growth)

    Compensation

    Starting at $23.00-28.00/hr, commensurate with experience and licensure

    What You ll Do

    Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures: exams, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, venipuncture, and catheter placement Assist veterinarians with routine general practice surgeries such as spay/neuter and mass removals Support with patient intake, client communication, and education on treatments Help manage patient flow and appointment coordination in a fast-paced setting Collaborate with the GP team to shape workflows, culture, and best practices from the start

    Ideal Candidate

    Licensed/Credentialed veterinary technician; experienced veterinary assistants may also be considered Minimum 1 2 years of experience in small animal practice Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues, and referring practices Comfortable using practice management software and diagnostic equipment Demonstrates compassion, teamwork, initiative, and respect

    What You ll Do

    Safely handle and restrain patients with minimal stress during exams and treatments Assist in diagnostics: lab sample collection, radiographs, record vitals, perform basic lab work (PCV/TP, urinalysis, etc.) Support the team during routine procedures including anesthetic induction/recovery and client prep Maintain tidy, organized treatment rooms, exam rooms, and supply areas Help communicate with clients and provide supportive guidance throughout their visit

    What We re Looking For

    Veterinary assistant with at least 1 2 years of experience in small animal practice Proficient knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal handling, and basic medical workflows Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills in a fast-paced clinic environment Tech-savvy and comfortable learning software like ezyVet or Smartflow
