Position Overview:
The Day Services Support Personnel (DSP) facilitates community activities and provides support for individuals with developmental disabilities in Pool of Bethesda's Day program and in the community. This role promotes independence, community involvement, and inclusion through tailored outings and skill-building activities, such as fitness classes, museum visits, art sessions, and career exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and participating in chosen activities.
Ensure individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and a sense of belonging.
Complete daily documentation and report on progress.
Provide personal care and behavioral support, including medication administration as needed.
Assist in developing and updating Person-Centered Plans.
Maintain a safe environment and transport individuals to activities.
Complete vehicle logs and required training.
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver license clean driving record and three (3) or more years of driving experience
Previous experience in a healthcare or developmental disability setting is preferred.
Knowledge of medication administration and safety protocols.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Working Conditions:
Day program setting with a focus on daytime activities.
Physical tasks may be required, and flexibility is needed for scheduling.

General Maintenance and Supplies Technician
The General Maintenance and Supplies Technician (GMST) performs essential upkeep tasks throughout the PBCS offices, Day habilitation and Residential sites. In this position, he/she will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as managing the medical equipment and supplies inventory, vehicles maintenance, homes and offices repairs and storage spaces clearing, arrangement and rearrangement to ensure that our facilities are both safe and functional. The GMST also fixes and maintains medical and mechanical equipment, and machines. Tasks include minor plumbing work, painting, flooring and walls repair and upkeep, minor electrical repairs and heating and air conditioning system maintenance. When needed the GMST will assist in driving to pick-up and drop-off Day Program participants when short of drivers.
The GMST shall select and contract specialists on larger maintenance related projects and collaborates with the team of specialists and other professionals during renovations and/or facility expansions, advises the President and Senior Accountant in the purchasing of new equipment.
