    Basic Purpose:
    Under the guidance and mentorship of the Body Shop Manager and experienced technicians, the Body Shop Technician Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in vehicle body repair and refinishing. The apprentice will assist in assessing, repairing, and restoring company vehicles to factory specifications while developing the skills necessary for a successful career in the trade.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Assist in estimating parts costs and labor for cosmetic and structural repairs on company vehicles.Support senior technicians in removing and reinstalling vehicle body parts, including upholstery, accessories, and electrical components.Learn and perform basic welding, riveting, and bolting techniques under supervision.Assist in replacing and installing vehicle glass windows.Gain hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools to repair and adjust major vehicle body components.Help prepare vehicle evaluation reports for the safety and maintenance department.Learn proper techniques for restoring damaged vehicle frames and body sections to factory standards.Assist in vehicle painting and finishing processes, including prepping surfaces and applying protective coatings.Comply with all safety standards, including FCMSA, OSHA, and company safety regulations.Perform other job-related duties as assigned while growing technical expertise.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required.Enrollment in or completion of a vocational or technical school program in auto body repair is preferred.

    Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

    Prior experience in auto body repair, painting, or a mechanical shop setting is a plus but not required.Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in the body shop trade.Ability to use good judgment and follow detailed instructions.Must be dependable and punctual.Ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs.Comfortable working at various heights on fleet vehicles.Basic understanding of hand and power tools used in body repair.Must be able to pass HIOSH-required respirator testing.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.

    Greet passengers and clients and assist those with special needs or requests.Load passengers onto the bus by following established safety procedures.Maintain accurate records of PAX count, arrival time, and baggage counts.Maintain constant communication with Drivers and Base Dispatch on any changes and/or discrepancies to the schedule, arrival, etc.Requires knowledge of Hawaii's history, language, culture, significant sites, local area’s roads, and landmarks.Requires verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.Present tour narration relevant and appropriate to tour routing.Provide excellent customer service.Report all required information to Dispatch in a timely matter.Review motorcoach safety protocols with guestsPerform other related duties as assigned by the Dispatch Supervisor or Station Manager.Must always be in uniform as per the Employee HandbookOTHER: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience:

    One (1) year of customer service or hospitality experience required; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Experience in a fast-paced work environment is preferred.

    Knowledge, and Skills Required:

    Customer service duties require relating to employees and customers in a friendly and professional manner.Requires knowledge of principles and processes for safety, ethics, and compliance with company rules & regulations.Ability to recognize and define problem areas, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to use good judgment and decision-making while handling multiple situations.Physical demands of working in the field require frequent sitting and speaking. Additional duties may occasionally require lifting objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
