Job Description
Pleasant & Sons Communications is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our growing construction team as 1099 Independent Contractors.
While a large portion of our work involves underground fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure, our crews also perform a variety of construction-related services including excavation, utility installation, site preparation, restoration, land clearing, and other outdoor construction projects.
This is a hands-on outdoor position ideal for individuals who enjoy working with equipment, learning new skills, and being part of a team that takes pride in building and improving infrastructure throughout our communities.
Responsibilities
Assist with underground fiber optic and utility installationsOperate hand tools and construction equipment safelyAssist directional drill operators, locator technicians, and equipment operatorsLoad and unload materials, tools, and equipmentInstall conduit, handholes, utilities, and related infrastructurePerform grading, restoration, seeding, and cleanup workAssist with excavation and site preparation projectsFollow safety procedures and jobsite requirementsWork efficiently as part of a crew to complete daily production goalsQualifications
Valid driver’s license requiredCDL is a plus, but not requiredAbility to lift 50+ pounds regularlyComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsConstruction, excavation, utility, telecom, landscaping, or equipment experience preferred but not requiredPositive attitude and strong work ethicAbility to travel occasionally for projectsMust be dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learnCompensation
$18.00 - $30.00+ per hour
Compensation is based on experience, productivity, reliability, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
This position is a 1099 Independent Contractor role and not a W-2 employee position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and related obligations.
