    Our client is a leading global Consultancy renowned for delivering high-profile, complex, iconic, large-scale capital projects.

    We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Geotechnical Engineer for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to this landmark project that is poised to deliver transformative impacts across economic, transportation, and environmental sustainability.

    The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

    As a Geotechnical Engineer on the project, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project.     Responsibilities

    The Geotechnical Engineer will support the Surface Alignment Contract and will work on design and construction of complex structures including foundations, retaining structures, underpinning, support of excavation systems, embankments and culverts in soft ground conditions for this contract.

    Support and oversee geotechnical subsurface investigations, including in‑situ testing, boring logs, field records, and development of geotechnical subsurface profiles and ground characterization. Provide field and site supervision for geotechnical construction activities, including deep and shallow foundations, excavation, ground improvement, compaction, and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring. Monitor, document, and report daily geotechnical and foundation construction activities, preparing accurate daily field reports and supporting construction compliance. Assist with geotechnical and foundation design for underground structures in soil and rock, including drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles, excavation support systems, and slope stability and seepage analyses. Perform and review advanced geotechnical analyses, including numerical modeling, liquefaction assessments, seismic site classification, and evaluation of excavation and ground improvement systems using industry-standard software. Assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of Geotechnical Data Reports, Geotechnical Baseline Reports, design calculations, technical memoranda, and engineering reports. Review and support design and construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders; participate in technical meetings; and assist with preparation of CADD drawings.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree with a geotechnical focus is advantageous.Strong academic foundation in geotechnical engineering, including soil and rock mechanics, laboratory and field testing, and construction practices Approximately 5–10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with preference for work performed in the New Jersey / New York City region. Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) credential required; Professional Engineer licensure in New Jersey, or the ability to obtain licensure, is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of industry‑standard geotechnical analysis and design software for foundations, excavation support, and slope stability (e.g., LPILE, GROUP, FB‑MultiPier, Slope‑W, Seep‑W, DeepEx, PLAXIS, Settle3D, or similar tools). Familiarity with commonly referenced geotechnical design manuals, guidelines, and technical publications. Experience applying AASHTO, NJDOT, and Amtrak standards, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

    As the Associate Director, Risk Management, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a mission that aligns with our clients purpose: to create responsible places that bring transformative impact to their people, communities, and societies.

    Responsibilities

    Managing node-level project teams through risk management processes and maintain risk register(s).Develop and maintain a risk management plan within client governance.Coordinate and communicate with project management leadership across the project organization.Identify and evaluate risks related to compliance requirements, program/project processes and procedures, and governance.Identify and assess risks, particularly those related to scope, schedule, costs, resources, and quality.Assess risk throughout project phases (design, construction/commissioning, and verification).Assess risks and any impact on project status and forecasts.Recommend treatments to manage risks to achieve project objectives.Communicate risk assessments and risk response measures to the PM director.Provide assessment and recommendations related to the completion and transition of project phases.

    Qualifications

    Degree qualification or equivalent in engineering, finance or relevant discipline.Expert knowledge of risk management principles and methods, including qualitative and quantitative assessment methods.Knowledge of the engineering, procurement and construction cycle and understanding of construction sequencing, means, and methods.Responsive to changing demands, strong leadership skills.Experience in Federal Transit Agency projects including tunneling experience.Familiarity with transit agencies (Such as PANYNJ, NJT, MTA, LIRR, Amtrak).Experience in delivery in programs or portfolios of significant value >$1bn is a significant advantage.

    The estimated starting salary for this position is $180,000 - $220,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
