Position Summary
The Mobile Sales and Service Technician (MSST) is responsible for providing on-site hydraulic and industrial hose repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance services to customers across a designated service area. Operating from a fully equipped mobile service vehicle, the MSST responds to emergency service calls, fabricates hose assemblies, diagnoses hydraulic system issues, and delivers exceptional customer service while developing and maintaining customer relationships. This role combines technical expertise, field service, and business development to support customer operations and minimize equipment downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to customer service calls and perform on-site hydraulic and industrial hose repairs and replacements.Diagnose hose and hydraulic system failures and recommend appropriate solutions.Fabricate custom hydraulic hose assemblies using specialized mobile equipment.Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential equipment issues before failures occur.Operate and maintain a company-provided mobile service vehicle, ensuring proper inventory levels of hoses, fittings, and related components.Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular communication and service visits.Identify opportunities to grow business within assigned territories through customer engagement and referrals.Provide technical guidance and product recommendations to customers.Complete service documentation, work orders, inventory records, and customer reports accurately and timely.Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency service support outside of normal business hours.Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Mechanical aptitude and experience working with hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, diesel engines, automotive systems, or industrial machinery preferred.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic problems independently.Strong customer service and communication skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver hoses, fittings, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call schedule.Prior hydraulic hose assembly experience is preferred but not required; training may be provided.
