ResponsibilitiesPerform Structural calculations, 3D design, 2D drawings, component specification, assembly, and documentation according to jurisdiction standards as assignedCommunicate with localities to determine jurisdictions that affect assigned projectsRecognize and pursue additional business opportunities with new and existing customersAssign, oversee, review, and provide feedback to other Engineers on work assignmentsVerify that end products meet the project scope, budget, and needs of customersCollaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and purchasing to communicate material needs Interpret and create drawings, layouts, and other engineering documentationManage and supervise assigned personnel and ensure effective performance managementWorking ConditionsWalk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and typePerform work on site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations
Qualifications5+ years’ relevant structural or engineering work experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Structural Engineering degree preferredPassing FE (Fundamental Engineering Exam) or equivalent requiredWorking knowledge of standards such as IBC, AISC, ACI, AWS, etc.Valid driver’s license requiredPrior supervisory or leadership experience preferredPossess an aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on workAdditional Eligibility QualificationsThis position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. ResponsibilitiesSafely Perform work in communications spacesParticipate in work requiring pole climbing when necessaryPerform work from an elevated position in the bucket truckPerform cable stripping, cleaving, terminating, and testing Proficiently work with fiber optic equipment such as splicers, OTDR (optical time domain refractometer), traffic identifiers, light-source power-meter, fiber specific hand tools, etc.Perform ring cuts on live fiber without affecting existing servicesTroubleshoot and repair common fiber optic equipment and component issues to include OTDR testing, reporting, and troubleshootingLead and mentor less experienced coworkersWorking ConditionsWalk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneelClimb poles; carry, set-up and extend ladders weighing up to 65 pounds, as well as work with confidence on ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 60 feet in the air to perform tasks in communications spacesWork indoors, outdoors, and underground in various weather conditionsAble to walk long distancesAble to lift up to 65 pounds without assistance
