    Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly Description Join Pilgrim Place, a welcoming senior living community in Claremont, where teamwork, respect, and service guide everything we do. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Food Service Cook to join our Dining Services team and help prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents. In this role, you will prepare daily meals, therapeutic diets, and special menu items while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and sanitary kitchen environment. You may also provide direction to team members in the Food Service Supervisor's absence. Ensure meals are prepared according to recipes, dietary guidelines, and quality standards. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by following HACCP principles. Monitor and document food temperatures, refrigeration/freezer temperatures, and sanitizer logs. Communicate meal counts, substitutions, and resident dietary needs with food service aides. Receive food deliveries, rotate stock, store inventory properly, and communicate supply needs. Ensure ingredients and supplies are available at least two days in advance of meal service. Assist with recipe updates and menu development. Monitor resident meal satisfaction and dining room meal acceptance. Provide direction to team members in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Support departmental meetings, committees, and special events as assigned. Qualifications What You Bring Minimum 2 years of quantity cooking experience required Experience preparing therapeutic or special diets preferred Healthcare, senior living, or institutional food service experience strongly preferred Ability to read recipes, follow written/verbal instructions, and perform recipe-related calculations Leadership skills and/or experience directing team members preferred Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Dependable attendance and punctuality Professionalism, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $20 - $23 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No Read Less

    What You’ll Do

    Complete assigned maintenance tasks with accuracy, care, and required documentation

    Maintain our sparkling swimming pool and spa, ensuring a clean and safe environment

    Perform essential preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment

    Conduct daily rounds of our scenic campus to identify and report maintenance needs

    Perform monthly fire alarm testing and ensure safety compliance in central facility buildings

    Safely operate trucks, golf carts, and other equipment

    Participate in 24-hour emergency on-call rotations as part of our dedicated team

    Assist with set-up and support for special events across campus

    Contribute to staff training on safety procedures and equipment operation

    Qualifications

     

    What You Need to Succeed

    Plumbing experience is highly desired

    A high school diploma, trade or vocational school background, or equivalent hands-on experience—apprenticeship training is a plus

    Pool maintenance knowledge is essential and will help you hit the ground running

    Experience with HVAC, electrical, painting, and light carpentry is highly beneficial

    Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through on tasks and requests promptly and professionally

    Confidence using hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment, safely and effectively

    A valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
