    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Key Responsibilities:

    Actively maintain a safe working environment:  Maintain a secure work environment by identifying hazards and participating in monthly safety committee meetings and bi-weekly shop safety meetings. Requires strong working knowledge of rigging, crane operations, and safe lifting procedures.Direct Daily Workflows: Coordinate and schedule shop floor operations across multiple work centers to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.Optimize Throughput: Proactively identify bottlenecks, manage labor efficiency, and execute corrective actions to maintain a smooth production flow.Drive Quality & Lean Initiatives: Enforce strict compliance with welding procedures and blueprints while leading 5S, scrap reduction, and rework elimination projects.Develop a High-Performing Team: Coach and mentor operators and shift leads, fostering a culture centered on safety, clear communication, and pride in craftsmanship.Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Lead daily shift tier meetings and partner with engineering, planning, maintenance, and quality teams to streamline performance.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior experience manufacturing excavator attachments, forestry attachments, or heavy construction equipment.Proficient with ERP/MRP production reporting systems and Microsoft Office.Formal training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies.Welding certifications or a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) background.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a major plus.

    Work Environment:

    This is a hands-on role in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. You will spend the majority of your day on the floor interacting with teams amidst welding arcs, grinding, and overhead cranes.

           This position is located in Portland, Oregon and will support the Director of Operations by directing daily operations of all warehouse activities and ensuring materials and goods are received, stored, and shipped efficiently.  Balance hands-on logistics with high-level human capital management.  Needs to be as comfortable managing a unionized workforce as they are with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

    ·       MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    ·       Operational Excellence:

    o   Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Lead and measure all daily processes to ensure order fulfillment and production are completed with excellence on a daily basis. Partnership with the Director of Operations for resolving daily challenges and ensuring timely and accurate completion or order fulfillment for Operations.

    ·       Human Capital Management:

    o   Support all human resource processes in the warehouse. This includes helping to source and staff all positions, support the performance management process, administer compensation when necessary, and training and development. Create a culture that promotes positive employee relations. Insure Teamster union contract is being followed.  Exposure to confidential information is restricted to salary information for respective Teamster employees.

    ·       Safety and hygiene:

    o   Monitors activities of work team to ensure that safe practices are in place and are being strictly adhered to. Monitors warehouse to ensure that proper housekeeping is being practiced. Safety is more than a policy; it’s an organizational core value.

    ·       Expense Management:

    o   Support and oversee daily and ongoing expenses to ensure that financial capital is used as efficiently as possible. Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment. Scheduling, tracking and expediting freight; work with carriers to resolve freight discrepancies;

    ·       Inventory management:

    o   Monitor work and processes to ensure that product is moved correctly from receipt to bins or production to shipping.  Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to automate and track operations. Responsible for VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory).

    ·       Sales Support:

    o   Support sales representatives and sales leadership to deliver outstanding customer service. Support current business by providing timely responses to service failures and customer concerns. Support the Director of Operations with resolving customer complaints.

    ·       Education:

    o   Bachelor's Degree preferred, relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree. 3 to 5 years supervisory experience, with demonstrated abilities supporting personnel, and warehouse employees. Preferrable 5 years business experience, with several years being in a distribution center environment.

    ·       ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    o   Effective communicator in both group and individual settings. Effective writing skills. Demonstrated ability to model Active Listening. Approachable. Effective in multi-cultural environments. Excellent presentation skills

    o   Extremely high sense of urgency, personal energy, and stamina. Capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands. High level of personal integrity.

    Machine Operator | Machinists

    Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Set up moderately complex jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic parts.
    • Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specification, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and set-up requirements.
    • Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, grinders and tooling pre-setter.
    • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.
    • Load programs into CNC machine and execute program to accurately machine parts to meet customer specifications.
    • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to programmed control data ensuring functionality and performance.
    • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
    • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments. • Confer with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
    • Complete essential documentation as required.
    • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts to safely transport product.
    • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

     

    Requirements:

    • Be able to perform own set ups.

    • Be able to work with large weldments.

    • Have Horizontal Boring Mill experience.

    We are looking for an experienced Diesel tech to join our team. Most of our jobs entail installing new

    heavy equipment attachments/systems, almost exclusively on excavators. The equipment is new, and

    the work is clean.

    Some field work may be required, but most of our jobs are done inside the shop at our Portland facility.

    Responsibilities

    Diesel tech/mechanic:

     Associate degree/certification or equivalent hydromechanical work experience.

     Heavy equipment experience required.

     Experience installing and troubleshooting 12V-24V systems.

     Experience installing and troubleshooting Hydraulic systems for heavy equipment

    attachments/accessories.

     Experience working with/on excavators of all makes. Cat, John Deere, Komatsu, Link Belt,

    Kobelco, etc.

     Understanding fundamentals and techniques of installing heavy equipment hydraulic

    components is a must.

     Ability/experience building hydraulic hoses.

     Experience servicing/rebuilding Hydraulic cylinders.

     Experience safely operating excavator /heavy equipment in a limited workspace.

     Rigging/crane experience.

     Experience using hydraulic presses/porta power.

     Fabrication experience a plus, but not required.

     A/C certification a plus but not required.
