    As a Sales Associate, you are at the heart of the Pet Care Center experience. You help pet parents find the right products and solutions for their pets while creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

    What You'll Do

    Assist customers in selecting products and services that meet their pets' needs.Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently.Stock shelves, replenish merchandise, and support inventory integrity.Assist with store recovery, merchandising, and promotional set-ups.Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.Support additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

    Essential Functions & Work Environment

    This role is performed in a Pet Care Center retail environment and requires active engagement on the sales floor.
    The role requires frequent standing and walking, as well as bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular engagement with customers on the sales floor, including providing customer assistance and performing cashiering and point-of-sale transactions.Must be able to work in proximity to animals, including exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.Flexible availability to support Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    As a Senior Sales Associate, you play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for pets and pet parents while supporting the success of the Pet Care Center.

    In this role, you go beyond day-to-day selling by serving as a mentor, role model, and trusted partner on the sales floor. You support store operations, assist leadership as needed, and help develop newer associates, all while delivering knowledgeable, compassionate service rooted in a passion for pets.

    What You'll Do

    Pet First
    Uphold Petco's animal care standards, ensuring the health, safety, and proper handling of all animals.Promote a safe, welcoming environment for pets, pet parents, and partners.Follow all policies and procedures related to animal welfare, safety, and store operations.

    Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service to every customer.Support and supervise store partners, helping maintain productivity and positive morale.Assist with training new partners and reinforcing best practices on the sales floor.Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.

    Open and close the store while following all cash handling, safety, and security protocols.Support daily store operations including sales, task execution, and recovery.Execute merchandising standards, including planograms, pricing accuracy, signage, and promotional set-ups.Assist with inventory activities such as restocking, cycle counts, inventory integrity, and required inventory paperwork.Identify out-of-stocks, low inventory, or merchandising issues and communicate them to store leadership.Process transactions, refunds, and exchanges accurately and efficiently.Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of store management.Support sales initiatives and promotions to help achieve store goals.
    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain merchandise presentation and in-stock conditions to Petco standards.Ensure accurate pricing and signage throughout the store.Assist with inventory counts, product replenishment, and shrink awareness.Monitor merchandising and inventory conditions during shifts and escalate issues as needed.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

    Position Purpose: Participate in the month-end closing process and assist in preparation of the internal, total-company financial statement package. Monitor entries in the General Ledger to ensure appropriate allocation, determine if reclassifications are required, explain variances, and analyze various accounts to avoid year-end audit exposure. Develop and recommend new procedures, processes and policies for the accounting operations of assigned function. Serve as accounting business partner to assigned function on issues that are highly complex. Provide input and may deliver training to personnel in various areas of accounting and finance. Analyze, research and reconcile selected accounts and cost discrepancies. Effectively communicate with field associates, corporate support staff and management to ensure issues relating to accounting are brought to the appropriate individuals for action. This function performs both highly complex statistical and financial analysis and is required to think and act independently when judgment is required.

    Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. This position must protect Petco's accounting data received from internal and external sources.

    Work Environment: The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in a quiet standard office environment, with little or no exposure to hazards.     As a Sales Associate, you are at the heart of the Pet Care Center experience. You help pet parents find the right products and solutions for their pets while creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

    What You Bring

    Experience & Skills
    Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.Passion for animals and interest in pet care.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and transactions.Strong attention to detail and reliability.
    Essential Functions & Work Environment

    This role is performed in a Pet Care Center retail environment and requires active engagement on the sales floor.
    The role requires frequent standing and walking, as well as bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds. Regular engagement with customers on the sales floor, including providing customer assistance and performing cashiering and point-of-sale transactions.Must be able to work in proximity to animals, including exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.Flexible availability to support Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
