The ideal candidate has direct experience handling Workers' Compensation cases from inception to closure, with a strong, working knowledge of WCB regulations and procedures. Major responsibilities of the Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant will include, but will not be limited to, summarizing medical records and providing paralegal support through all phases of litigation, including drafting appropriate motions, written discovery, pleadings, etc., The ideal candidate must have experience and knowledge of handling claims with the New York State Worker's Compensation Board.
Key responsibilities included but limited to:
Open and close filesMaintain digital/physical case files and log medical records, bills, and hearing notices.Assist in preparing and filing legal forms with the Board, including C-3s, RFA-1s, C-4s, PH-16.2, and appeals.
