    About This Role

    Join our amazing team that is dedicated to student success! This position is in our afterschool enrichment program with a need for flexibility Monday through Friday. Typical hours are 12:00-6 pm or 2:30 to 6:00 PM. The candidate can also work during school breaks to assist with full day camps and substitute. This enrichment position is ideal for retired educators, college students, and those who enjoy assisting with homework, planning activities, and understanding the importance of building healthy student relationships.

    We have 4 locations so there may be positions in Conyers or Covington. Onsite interviews with one of our Human Resources managers are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to Noon at two of our school locations: 14101 Hwy 278 in Covington or 1801 Ellington Road in Conyers.



    What You'll Do

    Academic Support:

    Assist students with homework, assignments, and school projects in a variety of subjects.Help students reinforce and practice what they have learned during the school day.

    Activity Planning and Leadership:

    Plan, organize, and lead engaging enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports, music, and STEM projects.Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and interests of different age groups.Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through structured activities.

    Supervision and Safety:

    Maintain a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable and secure.Supervise children during activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure their well-being.Enforce rules of conduct and address any behavioral concerns, ensuring positive and respectful interactions among students.

    Communication:

    Establish positive relationships with students, fostering an environment of trust and respect.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members regarding student progress, needs, and activities.Provide regular updates to parents about their child’s involvement in afterschool programs, including academic achievements or behavioral issues.

    Requirements

    Education: Some college coursework is preferred, with a concentration in education, child development, or a related field.

    Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred.


    Skills:

    Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children in a positive, patient, and supportive manner.Organizational skills, with the ability to plan and lead activities.Ability to manage a classroom or group of children, ensuring a positive and safe environment.Creative thinking and flexibility to adapt activities to students’ interests and needs.

    Additional Requirements:

    Ability to pass a background check and obtain any necessary certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid).20 hours of annual training as directed by the Center Director. The teacher will work closely with other staff members and may interact with parents during pick-up times.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to engage in physical activities, including playing games, helping students with crafts, or assisting in outdoor activities.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, if necessary (e.g., helping students with bags or moving materials).This position requires working with children in a classroom or activity space, both indoors and outdoors.

    Any special talents like playing an instrument, technology, coding, arts and crafts, agriculture, or health are great areas of interest to share. Technology skills are a plus.

    Peachtree Prep and Peachtree Academy are looking for three outstanding Long-Term Substitute Teachers for Elementary classes (Prek-5th grade) to join our team this fall while several of our teachers take maternity leave to welcome their newest family members! We have some precious Peachtree babies on the way, and we're looking for caring, dependable, and enthusiastic educators who can step into the classroom for 6–12 week assignments and continue providing exceptional learning experiences for our students.

    We are also seeking On-Call Substitute Teachers who enjoy variety and flexibility and can assist across multiple age groups as needed. We offer Prek-12th grade and early learning preschool programs at 4 different campuses in Rockdale and Newton County.
