About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Industrial Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive, and well-documented cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects. This role is critical to our continued growth and success, ensuring bids are complete, realistic, and aligned with project scope, company standards, and long-term profitability.
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for evaluating drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to ensure all electrical materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work are fully captured during the bid process. Through precise estimating and risk awareness, this position directly impacts our ability to win work, execute projects efficiently, and maintain strong financial performance.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on estimating experience, a strong understanding of commercial and industrial electrical systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, project managers, suppliers, and company leadership to support successful project outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating within commercial and industrial construction environments.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.Strong knowledge of electrical codes, systems, standards, materials, installation methods, and industry best practices.Proven experience estimating commercial/industrial projects both new construction and remodels.Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Journeyman or Master Electrician backgroundProfessional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.Familiarity with project management software like Procore.Experience with estimating software and tools such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects, including:
Labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead
Review project plans, specifications, addenda, and scope documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using estimating software
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Identify risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
Participate in bid strategy meetings and scope reviews
Develop and maintain estimate documentation for handoff to project management
Assist with change order pricing and job cost analysis as needed
Maintain historical cost data and pricing databases
Support preconstruction schedules and bid deadlines
Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners
Skills:
The Electrical Estimator utilizes technical skills to accurately interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications, ensuring all project elements are accounted for in the estimate. Analytical skills are essential for evaluating costs, market trends, and historical data to develop competitive and realistic bids. Communication skills are used daily to collaborate with internal teams, clarifying project details and negotiating terms. Proficiency with estimating and project management software streamlines the preparation and submission of bids, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, problem-solving skills help identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities, contributing to the overall success and profitability of projects. Must be results driven and deadline focused with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
