Site Safety Coordinator PBI Steel Construction is seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator who is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work environment on structural steel erection projects. This position ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, Louisiana workplace requirements, and applicable federal employment laws while helping reduce workplace hazards and strengthen the company's safety culture. The Site Safety Coordinator serves as a safety leader on assigned projects and works closely with the Site Safety Manager, Project Management, Field Supervision, Subcontractors, Clients, and Employees to identify hazards, reduce risk, prevent injuries, and ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently. Required Certifications CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction OSHA 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Essential Duties OSHA 500 preferred. First Aid/CPR certification preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards, fall protection, scaffolding, and heavy equipment safety. Ability to recognize hazards and enforce safe work practices in high-risk environments. Strong communication, leadership, and incident investigation skills. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Work Environment Active commercial and industrial construction job sites. Exposure to heights, outdoor weather conditions, heavy machinery, and physically demanding work environments. Travel to multiple project locations may be required. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary based on project schedules. Physical Requirements Ability to work in active construction environments. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and structural steel. Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk construction sites for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to travel to assigned project locations throughout Louisiana and Texas.
