Join the team that makes a difference! * We're offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner. * Drive and operate a minimum of two types of heavy equipment including but not limited to 50/70 Barrel Vacuum and Single Roll-Off Trucks. * Make deliveries in a safe and timely manner. * Prepare Haz-Mat & Non-Haz manifests. * Maintain full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, daily ELD logs, timesheets and vehicle inspection reports. * Perform simple maintenance and cleaning of response vehicle and assigned truck. * Perform various housekeeping and custodial duties as required. * Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled stand-by. * Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. * Comply with the Random Drug Testing Program. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred. * Current Class B Commercial Driver License, required. Class A preferred. * Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required. * Hazmat and Tanker endorsement, required within 90 days of hire. * 40-hour HAZWOPER required. Company paid training available. * 2 - 5 years of experience in heavy equipment driving and operation required. * 1 - 5 years of hazardous waste control and environmental services industry experience preferred. * All applicants must pass the following pre-employment requirements: * Physical including drug and alcohol screening * Background check in accordance with local laws and regulations CORE COMPETENCIES AND SPECIFIC SKILLS * Strong attention to detail with a distraction-free driving style. * Comprehensive understanding of logistics systems. * Safety conscious. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner. * Manage the day-to-day activities of field employees for planned projects and Emergency Response activities to ensure objectives are achieved. * Develop work plans and coordinate with the Dispatcher in the allocation of manpower, equipment and other resources needed. * Perform job walks to ensure safety protocols are in place and being followed, provide training to field employees and monitor the progress and quality of work. * Plan proactive approaches to overcome challenges or issues that could arise throughout a project or emergency response action. * Diagnose and solve issues quickly and efficiently. * Communicate with Operations Manager, Project Manager and customer to ensure contractual obligations are met to complete requested services, project progression status and ensure that change orders are completed/communicated/approved and executed before any additional work is performed. * Ensure the execution of the project within the budgeted constraints and completed on time. * Manage employee performance through guidance, training and discipline if necessary. Provide input to general management regarding the performance of field employees. * Manage safety performance and reporting of work-related accidents and incidents in a timely manner consistent with company policy. * Develop relationships with customer contacts onsite and provide additional service capabilities as needed. * Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled standby. * Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. * Comply with the Random Drug Testing Program. JOB SUMMARY The Wastewater Technician is responsible for the process of treating and disposing of wastewater, collecting data, and the inspection, operation and maintenance of the equipment that treats the wastewater. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner. * Operate equipment and utilize chemicals to purify and clarify water. Appropriately process and dispose of industrial wastewater. * Inspect, clean, repair, and maintain the condition of wastewater equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other areas. * Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions. * Coordinate larger repairs and maintenance with the appropriate management personnel. * Collect, preserve, test, analyze, and record water and sewage samples with relation to National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems. * Test, troubleshoot, and respond to all alarms at the facility and pumping or booster stations. Verify all backup systems are operational. * Maintain positive working relationships with clients and coworkers. * Attend preliminary and follow-up safety training as required. * Work long hours and overtime during day, night or weekend shifts. * Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS * A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. * Three (3) years' experience in the environmental services industry experience is preferred. * Three (3) years' experience in waste water treatment is preferred. * Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the wastewater treatment field is required. * HAZWOPER certification and Confined Space Entry certification are highly preferred. * California Water Environmental Association (CWEA) certification highly preferred. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * Strong attention to detail; meticulous. * Safety conscious. * * Flexible to fast paced changes.
