    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, Community Mental Health, the Director of Nursing is responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating nursing and other professional support services at Parkview Behavioral Health Institute (PBHI) and its Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) facility, Park Center.

    This position provides leadership for both inpatient and outpatient nursing services, including the Park Center Inpatient Unit, Addictions Residential Program, Mobile Crisis, Crisis Stabilization Unit, and Psychiatric Evaluation Service. The Director is responsible for leading the nursing departments in the development, implementation, and coordination of high-quality, high-value patient care while ensuring alignment with Parkview Health's mission, vision, and values.

    The Director partners with PBHI Park Center leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary leaders to support organizational decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for developing nursing staff competencies, enhancing nursing services, fostering collaboration across multiple departments, and promoting effective communication with leaders, co-workers, medical staff, community partners, and board members as appropriate.

    The Director provides leadership to all nursing operations to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care and operational excellence. Responsibilities include monitoring key performance metrics related to quality outcomes, patient experience, program effectiveness, resource utilization, budget performance, and productivity. The successful candidate will be a results-driven leader with a demonstrated history of building collaborative relationships across departments and leading teams through change.

    Education

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required. Acceptable accrediting agencies include the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

    Licensure/Certification

    Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required. CPR certification required. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.

    Experience

    Minimum of five to seven years of progressive leadership experience within a behavioral health setting required. Leadership experience overseeing both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services preferred. Crisis services experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission, Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Proven ability to lead personnel and strategic initiatives that support the mission and goals of PBHI and Parkview Health. Strong clinical program development, staff development, and coaching skills.
