The position will serve as a team member of the PCBC Day School. This position is responsible for maintaining all program standards including those of Park Cities Baptist Church, Texas Department of Health, and Human Services. The Teacher accepts temporary work assignments with all age groups, including children's personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs and positive guidance. The Floater/Permanent Substitute will work under general supervision of the Day School Director with some demand for independent judgment and action.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and participate in outside activities, such as games, gardening, and gross motor play, utilizing the outdoors for teaching opportunities.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by being a member of the Early Childhood Christian Network.Assist the PreK lead teacher by recording, documenting learning accomplishments and behavior. Obtain a CPR certification and first aid training every two years.Must complete 24 hours of required yearly training outlined by the Texas Health & Human Services Department Maintain Texas Minimum StandardsAbide by Positive Guidance and Discipline Methods according to Texas Minimum StandardsObtain a valid Food Handlers certification every two years. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with the PCBC / PCBC Day School COVID-19 Response Plan and procedures. Show respect to and relate positively towards children and adults.Ensure classrooms have the supplies and resources ready at the start of each day.Document the occurrence of significant accidents/incidents and notify the Day School Director immediately.Demonstrate enthusiasm and show pleasure in working with and caring for young children.Other duties as assigned by the Director.OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Influenza vaccine is highly recommended at the onset of flu season and the COVID-19 vaccine is highly recommended, but not required at this time. Must have organizational skills to keep an orderly and clean learning environment.Standing and walking for sustained periods of time; moving about on foot for lecturing and monitoring students in the classroom, as well as throughout the building and playground.Stooping, crouching, crawling, and kneeling---ability to assist young children with needs.Climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting --- ability to pick up small children as needed as well as for classroom setup purposes; occasional lifting between 20-40 pounds. The work environment is primarily indoors, in a classroom, and will also include an outdoor classroom environment with intermittent hot and cold weather.Working with young children requires the ability to work with a wide variety of challenging behaviors and learning styles, diverse families, and co-workers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Build a volunteer team to help with Sunday morning, Wednesday night, and special
event programming.

The Year-Round Intern for KIDS Preschool Ministry job can be described as assisting the KIDS Preschool Ministry staff with everyday operations of the ministry such as making copies, organizing resources, cleaning up from Sunday, setting up for Sunday, creative design, and organizing events and programs; along with participating in the ministry programs and events.
Expectations
To complete each task given with a servant heart and finish each task in a timely and complete manner.
Will work approximately 15-20 hours/week with a one-week vacation to be taken if desired. Interns can also have up to two Sundays off per semester. Additional vacation or out of the office days can be negotiated.
Work between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on Monday – Thursday. One hour of lunch is given on Monday – Thursday. Will attend and set up for activities. Average week will be 20 hours of work that will span Sunday – Thursday. Exceptions will include VBS week and possible filming for various programs in KIDS Preschool ministry.
May have friends assist with jobs only after approval of the Minister to KIDS Preschool. Upon approval, friends may help with creative or everyday tasks; however, the time spent at the church will be limited. Friends will not receive compensation for assistance with tasks. The Minister to KIDS Preschool reserves the right to terminate the friends helping at any time.
