As Area Manager, you play a critical role in supporting the success of franchise cafés within your market. You serve as a trusted advisor to franchise owners and their General Managers with coaching, guiding, and helping them understand and implement brand standards, operational best practices, and guest experience expectations.
You drive performance by sharing insights, identifying opportunities, and reinforcing the systems and tools that help franchisees improve profitability, guest satisfaction, product quality, and operational consistency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Operational Support & Brand Standards

The Director of Architecture & Design is responsible for leading Paris Baguette’s architectural vision and design standards across all new café openings, refreshes, and remodels in the United States and internationally. This role owns the full design lifecycle — from prototype development and test-fit review through construction document approval and project closeout — and serves as the primary steward of brand design integrity across the entire café portfolio.
The Director will build and manage a high-performing external architecture network, drive continuous improvement of design standards and prototype efficiency, and partner cross-functionally with Construction, Real Estate, Operations, and Marketing to ensure every café reflects the Paris Baguette brand at its best.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Leadership & Standards
Own and continuously evolve Paris Baguette’s prototype design, brand standards, and design guidelines across all café formats (inline, endcap, freestanding, non-traditional).Review and approve all test-fit layouts for new locations, ensuring compliance with prototype standards, operational requirements, and brand criteria.Lead comprehensive review and redline of construction document (CD) sets, identifying design deficiencies, code conflicts, and brand deviations prior to permit submission.Approve all design elements — materials, finishes, millwork, signage, lighting, furniture, and equipment placement — for new builds, refreshes, and remodels.Develop and maintain a design element library and approved vendor/product specifications to ensure consistency and procurement efficiency across the portfolio.Refresh & Remodel Program
Lead the design and coordination of the café refresh and remodel program, including scope definition, phasing strategy, and budget benchmarking.Partner with Operations and Franchise Business Consultants to prioritize refresh candidates and develop refresh tiers aligned to investment levels.Ensure remodel designs balance brand elevation with operational continuity, minimizing franchisee disruption and downtime.External Architecture Network
Build, manage, and evaluate a national network of preferred architecture firms, ensuring geographic coverage, capacity, and performance standards are maintained.Establish scopes of work, fee structures, and deliverable expectations for all external architect engagements.Conduct ongoing performance reviews of architecture partners; onboard and offboard vendors as portfolio needs evolve.Serve as the primary escalation point for design disputes, RFI resolution, and scope clarifications between architects, general contractors, and franchisees.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process
Partner with Real Estate to evaluate site feasibility and inform LOI decisions based on design and construction viability.Collaborate with Construction Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure design intent is preserved through permit and field execution.Coordinate with Marketing and Brand teams to ensure café environments align with evolving brand positioning and campaign direction.Interface directly with franchisees and their representatives to communicate design requirements, manage expectations, and resolve design-related issues.Maintain and improve internal design review processes, approval workflows, and documentation standards to support a high-volume, fast-growing pipeline.Reporting & Administration

As the New Cafe Opening Manager (NCOM), you will be the leader of the NCO Team, and a point person for each opening. You are ultimately responsible for a seamless opening process, along with the rest of the NCO team. You will be responsible for training the NCO Franchise owner and their General Manager (GM) on all management functions of operating their business. You will also need to ensure that our NCO Specialists, who are responsible for Front of House training with Retailers, are adhering to the training plans, and there is high impact to their training with all new hires.

Trains Franchise Owners and General Managers on the basic management functions that they need to excel in to run a solid operation, such as impactful scheduling, time and attendance management, management of cash handling process and processes, inventory management, and general people leadership.Arrives on site ahead of full NCO Team to test and calibrate espresso machine, TurboChef, and POS ensuring the café is prepared to hold training. Directing the reception, organization, and storage of the initial product, smallware, and disposable orders ensuring health and safety codes are met. Hangs compliance signage in accordance with the local and federal law while ensuring all Marketing and promotional materials are to specification. Provides training to Owner/GM and all FOH and BOH teams on understanding and creating a culture aligned to Paris Baguette’s Mission, Vision and Brand Values. Provides training to Owner/GM and all FOH and BOH teams on the adhering to the highest standards of product quality, and be able to identify what “good” looks and tastes like, and what opportunity with production looks and tastes like. Works collaboratively with Owner/GM to provide feedback on staffing of the Front of House and Back of House teams to ensure there is a fully staffed and trained team during the opening, and make recommendations for any gaps. As the New Cafe Opening (NCO) Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Back of House teams, cakers, bakers, sandwich and salad makers, during the opening cafe process to ensure they are well prepared for their new roles. This includes reminding them of best practices, skills, and techniques needed to produce the highest quality bakery products.
You will be a key leader who focuses on educating and mentoring these Back of House team members effectively to ensure there is always consistency in execution of our high quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with NCO General Manager in providing direction and clarity around best in class processes and procedures to operate at the highest level of effectiveness and efficiency, including ordering, inventory management, effective scheduling practices, and general leadership of the Back of House teams. Responsible for the production levels for the café, in partnership with the General Manager, to ensure that the café has the appropriate amount of quality product being produced, based on each day’s projected sales volume, while managing to sales and traffic trend. Determine if there is adequate staffing of the Back of House teams to ensure there is a fully staffed and trained team during the opening, or if there are gaps that need to be addressed. Partner with General Manager and District Manager if there are Back of House staffing or skills issues during opening. Works with General Manager on the scheduling of Back of House teams to ensure there is adequate coverage based on the needs of the business. Responsible for teaching the inventory management process for the café and how to manage to Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) goals. Responsible for teaching General Manager the end of Month Back of House inventory, per company guidelines.Responsible for teaching Back of House teams the process of ordering and receiving of shipments. WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Design & Construction guidelines, managing architectural and construction activities involved with new and remodel locations.
The Construction Project Manager will provide recommendations on prototype improvements, supervise the entire development process from test-fit to project closeout, and provide process-driven enhancements when appropriate. The ideal candidate will leverage their construction/design knowledge to provide ongoing assistance to help us achieve our vision of re-establishing the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community around the world.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all facets of the project development process for new and remodel locations including test-fit layouts, CD’s, permitting, construction through to opening of the café.Supervise and manage the construction process while establishing and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders.Manage Paris Baguette preferred architects, general contractors, millwork & sign vendors including ongoing development of new vendors, as needed.Ability to develop scope of work, budgets, coordination of deliveries and identify risks for projects, project delivery requirements, cost estimates and risk identification, as required.Track progress of all projects against approved timelines and goals. Reports on project status and potential delays and then implements an action plan to meet objectives as needed for on time opening.Implement the company’s business policies, programs, specifications and procedures related to planning, design and construction of Paris Baguette locationsUndertake all reasonable measures to ensure that all agreed to new store build/ relocations/ remodels are met for franchisee markets.Provide bakery/franchise design assistance and construction project management support to the teams to ensure new openings and redevelopments meet corporate design standards.Stay current with bakery/franchise industry practices regarding development plans, design standards and related cost and maintain liaison with Paris Baguette team to identify, cascade, and implement global programs and regional initiatives.Perform assigned tasks as assigned.WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction or related field.At least, 5-7 years Architecture/Construction Project Management experience in QSR/Retail/Hospitality/Entertainment industry.Experience in the Architectural field including commercial and retail related activities.Progressive leadership experience in a fast paced and rapidly growing retail environment. Must have a proven multi-unit restaurant development background leading 100 plus locations.Experience with a fast growing, high-volume Franchise company preferred.Bakery/Café kitchen construction project management experience preferred.Passion for people!
