    Paragon, a Mirion Technologies Company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analog Electronics Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of analog electronic systems that support nuclear safety. This position requires an individual that can take written specification to a manufacturable hardware design. The individual will be responsible for creating analog circuit designs that meet specified design requirements. Circuit simulation experience, PCB schematic capture and layout experience is required. Ability to calculate tolerances, errors, and drift are examples of expected design functions. Candidate must be able to write circuit function and individual component justifications, along with circuit theory of operation in detail. Post design functions, such as writing acceptance and testing procedures will be part of the typical duties and expectations. Prior nuclear experience is preferred but not required.

    A core component of this position also involves the reverse engineering and modernization of legacy electronics, ensuring long-term reliability and performance in highly regulated environments. This role is ideal for engineers with a deep understanding of analog design principles who are also adept at tackling the challenges of obsolete components and re-creating complex, safety-critical systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design and analyze analog circuits, including power supplies, amplifiers, filters, signal conditioning, and interface circuitry.Support the redesign and re-engineering of obsolete electronics to meet current manufacturing standards and qualification requirements.Interpret and replicate legacy hardware using available documentation, circuit analysis, and bench testing.Collaborate with drafting and layout teams to generate schematics, PCB layouts, and mechanical drawings. Ability to create drawings for designed electronics is required. Help develop and execute test plans and qualification protocols to validate performance, including environmental and functional testing.Evaluate alternative components for equivalency in form, fit, and function when dealing with obsolete or discontinued parts.Conduct failure analysis on legacy and redesigned systems, identifying root causes and corrective actions.Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with internal quality standards, including:Circuit Design SpecificationsDesign CalculationsTest Procedures and ReportsEquivalency EvaluationsEngineering Change Notices (ECNs)Interface with component suppliers and external test labs to ensure compliance and resolve technical issues.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.Minimum 6 years of experience in analog circuit design and testing; experience in redesign or reverse engineering.Strong foundation in analog electronics theory, signal integrity, and circuit analysis.Strong technical writing and documentation skills aligned with quality-controlled environments. Attention to detail is critical.Ability to manage design efforts from concept through final release.Proficiency with Altium PCB schematic and layout or equivalent.

    Paragon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our team in our Fort Worth, Texas office! This position provides sound engineering principles in testing and evaluation (by analytical or other means) for industrial pressure retaining and process measuring equipment applied in nuclear safety-related projects. Includes development of design drawings, item testing plans, various calculations, and subsequent test reports. This role will manage a number of projects as well as provide assistance to a senior level engineers managing complex projects.

    Responsibilities

    Primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment technical specifications are met, that project scope is performed with adequate engineering rigor while mitigating project risk in order to maintain project schedule and provide the highest quality possible result.Involved with project scheduling to ensure project deliverables are reasonable for project execution.Maintain schedules through interaction with project management, engineering, production personnel and clients.Work as a single point of contact for engineering for multiple projects for multiple clients.Maintain ongoing project requirements and specifications for multiple projects for multiple clients.Perform design reviews with the engineering team to ensure that the design meets the client requirements, GD&T standards and quality is being maintained.Preparation of Bills of Materials and purchase orders for material.Creation and refinement of design and test documentation to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the quality and documentation goals of a project.Commercial Grade Dedication plans, Factory Acceptance Test plans.Seismic, Harsh Environmental, and/or EMI/RFI qualification test plans and reports Engineering calculations/evaluations.Design drawing package creation (including SolidWorks CAD).Creation of project documentation to convey key aspects of a design to a client or manufacturing partner.Perform root cause, apparent cause and/or common cause analysis and testing activities, when required.Direct communication with clients.Work as peer review of documentation prior to client delivery.Interaction with the production floor to resolve design and/or testing issues.Collaborate with other engineers to increase knowledge/skills.Develop analytical processes.Share experience.Review other's designs.

    Qualifications

    BS degree in an applicable engineering discipline or equivalent with 6+ years industry experience (industrial equipment, process measurement, equipment test programs, manufacturing) is required.Experience in nuclear energy or a related field is a plus.Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus but not required. EIT mentorship available.Experience with SolidWorks software preferred.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.Communicate effectively, both verbally and written. Must be able to communicate with any and all levels and groups within the organization and shall be able to do so whilst maintaining business professionalism.In-depth mathematical knowledge; algebra, geometry, calculus, and their applications.Must have strong problem-solving skills, capable of coming up with creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products within the bounds of quality and industry regulations.

An Electronics Repair & Test Engineer is responsible for the testing and repair of various analog and power electronics systems that are related to Nuclear Safety. A strong candidate for this position possesses a working knowledge of analog and power electronics used in power supplies, inverters, battery chargers, and various signal conditioning and processing systems. This position will be required to develop detailed test procedures/documents for the functional testing of the specimen as well as the replacement components required for the repair. The individual will be responsible for providing detailed circuit analysis as well as detailed circuit operation justification to be documented.

    Responsibilities:

    The Electronics Repair & Test Engineer will be tasked with intermediate level project scopes involving the following:

    Perform functional testing to generate documentation necessary for technicians to perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of analog and power electronics systems.Create project documentation including acceptance test procedures, repair reports and technical memos for various electronics systems with and without any technical documentation or specifications available.Translate technical aspects and requirements into formal documentation.Read schematics and assembly drawings.Generate equivalency evaluations for comparison of replacement components after repairs/refurbishments.Create dedication/qualification paperwork of commercially available components for safety related applications in nuclear utilities.Analyze circuitry to be able to determine theory of operation and define operating parameters.Evaluate components for the impact to for form, fit, function and environmental qualification requirements.Design and develop test benches for testing.Perform failure analysis of various components and recommend solutions.Use various electronics lab test equipment to perform troubleshooting down to the component level.Communicate with suppliers to resolve non-conforming purchase order requirements and materials.Communicate with customers to answer technical questions.Management may assign additional related tasks.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (alternatives will be considered).Minimum of 2 years of experience working in repair, test, and/or analog engineering.Strong background in troubleshooting down to the component level required.Must be able to produce documentation at a high level of quality with attention to detail and in accordance with Paragon procedures.Possess good communication and organizational skills need to work within a team environment.Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, and various testing equipment is preferred.Experience working within a quality program is a plus.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or similarA minimum of 5 years of experience as a hardware design engineer or similarExperience working on nuclear safety related I&C system development projects, including equipment qualification, commercial grade dedication, and system implementation and test, is highly desirableExperience creating drawing packages that define large, complex assemblies such as I&C cabinets with nested bills of materials is highly desirableExperience in high-speed multi-layer PCB design is desirableFamiliarity in the following areas is desirable but not required: SPI, serial, and Ethernet communication and networks Hardware implementations using FPGAs HDL languages such as VHDL PLC or DCS implementations, including 4-20mA signal loops, RTDs, thermocouples, solid state relays, analog to digital conversion, and digital to analog conversionBoard design packages such as OrCAD and Altium Electrical design packages such as SolidWorks Electrical Hardware and system designs with multiple ground domainsMATLAB and SimulinkWire routing and quality standards, including UL-508A, IEEE-384, IPC/WHMA-A-620Proven ability to create real and positive change, think creatively and respond rapidly to changing priorities and customer needsAbility to handle multiple tasks, projects, competing priorities and tight deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Paragon is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join our team in our Fort Worth, Texas office! The Electrical Engineer I provides sound engineering principles in design, development, implementation, testing and evaluation (by analytical or other means) for equipment applied in nuclear safety-related projects. Includes development of design drawings, item test plans, various calculations, and subsequent test reports. The engineer will work with various power and control related equipment such as motor control centers, switchgear, control panels, starters, relays, transformers, circuit breakers, disconnects, as well as many other types of control and power equipment. This role will work on engineering related activities on projects from start to finish and will provide assistance to senior level engineers managing complex projects.

    Responsibilities:Primary responsibility is to ensure that equipment technical specifications are met, that project scope is performed with adequate engineering rigor while mitigating project risk in order to maintain project schedule and provide the highest quality possible result.Maintain ongoing project requirements and specifications for multiple projects for multiple clients.Analysis of component functional and design requirements for development of test plans.Perform design reviews with the engineering team to ensure that the design meets the client requirements and industry design standards.Creation and refinement of design and test documentation to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the quality and documentation goals of a project including:Commercial Grade Dedication plans, equipment test plansSeismic, environmental, and/or EMI/RFI qualification test plans and reportsDiscrepancy report resolutionEngineering calculations and evaluationsDesign drawing package creation (including Solidworks CAD)Create project documentation to convey the key aspects of a design to a client or manufacturing partner.Perform root cause, apparent cause and/or common cause analysis and testing activities, when required.Work as peer review of documentation prior to client delivery.Interaction with the production floor to resolve design and/or testing issues.Collaborate with other engineers to increase knowledge/skills.Develop analytical processes.Share experiences.Review others designs.

    Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with industry experience (electrical, industrial, electronics, manufacturing) is required.Communicate effectively, both verbally and written. A strong candidate must be able to communicate with any and all levels within the organization and shall be able to do so while maintaining professionalism.Must have strong problem-solving skills, capable of producing creative approaches for generating new ideas and improving existing processes or products within the bounds of quality and industry regulations.
