    ATTORNEY JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities will include management of an active case load throughout Texas in a high volume, dynamic, insurance defense/commercial litigation practice. The attorney will manage reporting to the client and insured, coordination with experts when appropriate, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing insured and other parties for depositions, taking depositions, preparation for and appearance at hearings, drafting of motions and preparation and attendance at trial. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain client satisfaction including prompt communication before, during and after cases. Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, administrative proceedings and similar proceedings as required. Research the law applicable to cases or matters; draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs and opinions as required. Remain current with developments in the law. If requested, conduct settlement negotiations. Effectively communicate and persuade using written and verbal skills. Bill 175 hours per month. Meet all deadlines in a timely manner providing completed work product to the supervising attorney sufficiently in advance of any deadline for constructive discussion of options. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE · Litigation experience should include: Transportation, Construction Defect and Premise · Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills · Computer and software proficiency required · Active member of the Texas State Bar (Required) PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS This is an indoor office environment and may require sitting and utilizing a computer for extended periods of time. May be required to travel to client job sites. May be required to move items up to 20 pounds. Overtime may be required to complete certain projects and meet deadlines. Candidates must be self-motivated, committed to excellence in the workplace, and have outstanding attention to detail. Candidates must also have demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and candidates must be proficient in the use of MS Office and case management applications such as Imanage. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Maintaining attorney calendars and schedules. Filing case documents in an organized manner for easy access. Drafting documents such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence. Electronic filing/e-service of pleadings and discovery. Assist attorney in preparation of hearings and upcoming depositions. Maintain organized and thorough documentation for every case. Take initiative in order to meet client and customer needs. Communication with vendors to set up depositions and other meetings. Work independently with minimal supervision. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Expert verbal and written communication skills including excellent proofreading skills. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with people at all levels of the firm. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in organizational skills. Strong ability to multi-task; high level of time-management skills. Attentive to details with good follow through and follow up, possess the ability to anticipate what needs to be done. Ability to maintain a customer/client focus and build rapport with others inside and outside the firm. High level of professionalism; maintain confidential information. Trial preparation experience is preferred. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm in high pressure situations. 3+ years in a similar role EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY REQUIRED Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications. Knowledge of Imanage strongly preferred. Proficiency with DropBox, and/or other FTP download programs Familiarity with federal filings and Pacer preferred. Experience with Westlaw preferred. Experience with Coyote, iTimekeep or other timekeeping software required. Proficiency with electronic filing/e-service of pleadings and discovery.
