Scope of Practice:
New cardiology consults Routine inpatient consults (may be seen within 24 hours) Routine consults after 5:00 PM Sunday may be deferred until Monday STAT EKG interpretation only (non-STAT handled by staff) Reporting of urgent echocardiography (PE, troponin elevation, hypotension/shock, pericardial effusion) Pager call coverage Friday Monday Coordination of transfers for cath/EP lab intervention (STEMI, refractory arrhythmias, tamponade) Emergent pericardiocentesis when patients are too unstable for transferVolume:
3 new consults/day 5 follow-ups/dayFacility:
