    Job Description Lab Technician I SUMMARY

    Responsible for providing assistance, preserving, preparing, processing and maintenance of lab samples, which involve knowledge on fundamental lab support policies, programs and practices while completing appropriate forms, documents, and databases. May include various forms of samples, such as environmental, biological, chemical, and related areas.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, equipment, safety, cleanliness, and related areas. Supports analytical testing process using standard lab support knowledge in the collection and review of conditions, including preserving samples, completing sample preparation, documenting, and communicating results. Picks up, transports, and maintains results, samples, documents, materials, and other items as needed. Disposes of laboratory materials and samples using well-established guidelines and instructions. Reviews, completes, and processes standard degrees of logs, documents, databases, and related materials and information. Provides fundamental support in the application and assistance to staff and management regarding lab support policies, programs, and practices. Provides support researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve process, department, and related customer issues. Assists in the review and implementation of lab support policies, practices, and programs to meet organizational, operations and management needs. Assists with ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; receives guidance and direction or escalates when required. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience

    High school diploma or equivalent; experience in related work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. One year of experience in a lab or environmental setting is preferred.

    This candidate will be fluent in Japanese and responsible for handling multiple product packaging and labeling update projects. A person in this role provides critical support for new and existing bioprocessing products. This includes reviewing, organizing, and updating product labels, documentation, and manufacturing documents.

    Responsibilities

    Work with members of the Japanese manufacturing team to obtain and update documentation Generate necessary documents for projects such as label change requests and label templates Review and correct existing product data on packaging and labels Update databases and documentation as needed Contribute to project timelines based on team s input Provide timely communication to project team and product engineer on timelines and updates Use Adobe for document editing

    Requirements

    Fluent in Japanese, including manufacturing and laboratory terminology Bachelor s degree in related field Preferred 2 years of documentation experience Good deductive reasoning and analytical approach to problem solving Adobe experience preferred Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven Able to communicate effectively in both Japanese and English

    This position will require good time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase.     Product reliability testing and analysis of biopharmaceutical filtration devices General laboratory activities and instrumentation including: pipetting, preparation of solutions/samples/media, and operation of pH meters, autoclaves and analytical balances Characterize filtration media following documented SOPs and established test methods such as filter binding capacity, total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), charge capacity and microbial retention Complete a variety of bioassays including Protein purification, Host Cell Protein quantification, DNA quantification, mAb purification/quantification, ELISAs, qPCR/ddPCR, etc. Assist with the development of new applications for existing products using all previously described tests Assist with the validation of bioassay test methods May work with microbial and bacteriophage samples and challenges Possibly support all stages of the mammalian cell culture process including maintenance, transfection, etc. at flask and bioreactor levels General laboratory upkeep and supplies maintenance
