Apprentice Fuel Technician

Pay: $18.00/hour + Overtime (average of 12-15 hours a week paid at time and half)
Schedule: Full-Time, Frequent Travel
Per Diem: $50.00 per day when traveling (paid weekly, not taxed)
Company Paid Travel: Company covers all lodging expenses
Must be willing and able to travel consistently.
Job Summary
The Apprentice Fuel Technician is responsible for testing, inspecting, and supporting fuel system compliance at retail, commercial, and private fueling facilities. This role performs fuel system integrity testing, documents results accurately, and communicates findings and corrective actions clearly to internal teams and customers. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy hands-on work and regular travel.

Perform fuel containment, equipment integrity, and leak-detection testingIdentify leaks and compliance issues to prevent environmental or equipment failuresComplete petroleum support work orders accurately and efficientlyDocument test results using basic calibration toolsCommunicate findings and corrective procedures clearly to company partners and customersTravel approximately two weeks per month (home on weekends; hotel and per diem provided)Comply with safety, DOT, and company policies at all timesQualifications
Mechanical aptitude; experience with hand tools preferredBackground in trades or industrial/commercial environments is a plusAbility to work independently and communicate effectivelyComfortable using basic technology for reporting and documentationPhysically able to lift 10–50 lbs and perform tasks such as kneeling, bending, reaching, and standingMust pass a company-paid DOT physical and drug screenValid driver’s license and clean driving record requiredVeterans: VA On-The-Job Training

The Role
Performs several duties pertaining to fuel systems integrity testing. Primarily completes petroleum support work orders and jobs at retail, commercial and private fueling facilities. Shares results of testing and correction procedures with company partners and customers with speed and accuracy.
Responsibilities
Performs a variety of fuel containment tests, equipment integrity tests, and leak-detection tests to detect leaks or to prevent future leaks due to non-compliance or equipment failure.
Travel is expected in this role. Compliance Technicians are expected to travel 2 weeks per month, home on the weekends. (Hotels and a generous per diem is provided).
Hourly rate is $18.00, with an average of 12-15 hours of overtime per week paid at time and a half.
Per Diem: $50.00 per day and it goes directly into weekly paycheck, not taxed.
Qualifications
Mechanical background, experience with hand tools, and trades or industrial/commercial settings are a plus.Physical capability: lifting 10-50lbs, kneeling, bending, handling, reaching, and standing.Independent work ability and effective communication skills.Basic technology knowledge for documentation.Must be able to pass a company paid DOT physical & drug screen and possess a clean driving record.Veterans: VA On-The-Job Training
