POSITION SUMMARY:
The Carpenter performs skilled construction, installation, repair, and finishing work that contributes to the safe and successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role reads and interprets plans, measures and prepares materials, builds structural and finish components, and supports concrete, framing, and installation activities. A Carpenter upholds O-A-K’s quality and safety standards through precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and collaboration with field leaders and trade partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Construction & Installation
Perform framing, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and concrete formwork.Advanced knowledge in door hardwareExperienced in handling both structural and finish carpentry responsibilitiesInstall structural and architectural components, including walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, doors, windows, frames, and molding.Cut, shape, assemble, and modify wood, metal, and other materials using appropriate tools and techniques.Build and install temporary structures such as bracing, scaffolding, and barriers
Layout, Measurement & Material Preparation
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to understand dimensions and materials.Accurately measure, mark, and prepare materials to support proper layout and efficient construction.Select appropriate tools, fasteners, and materials for assigned tasks.Assist with layout activities to ensure alignment, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.

About this opportunity
Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects by assisting with planning, coordination, and execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and project stakeholders to help maintain schedules, control costs, manage documentation, and uphold quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
What youll do
Assist with preconstruction activities, bidding, subcontracting, and procurementCoordinate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, schedules, cost logs, and meeting notesSupport field and office teams by communicating schedule updates, material needs, and design clarificationsTrack project progress, milestones, and cost projections; support job cost reviewsReview drawings and specifications to identify issues requiring clarificationHelp manage change orders, pay applications, and budget updatesParticipate in quality reviews, site walks, and safety coordination effortsSupport project closeout by assembling warranties, punch lists, and turnover documentationWhat were looking for
