POSITION SUMMARY:
The Carpenter performs skilled construction, installation, repair, and finishing work that contributes to the safe and successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role reads and interprets plans, measures and prepares materials, builds structural and finish components, and supports concrete, framing, and installation activities. A Carpenter upholds O-A-Ks quality and safety standards through precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and collaboration with field leaders and trade partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Construction & Installation
Perform framing, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and concrete formwork.Advanced knowledge in door hardwareExperienced in handling both structural and finish carpentry responsibilitiesInstall structural and architectural components, including walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, doors, windows, frames, and molding.Cut, shape, assemble, and modify wood, metal, and other materials using appropriate tools and techniques.Build and install temporary structures such as bracing, scaffolding, and barriersLayout, Measurement & Material Preparation
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to understand dimensions and materials.Accurately measure, mark, and prepare materials to support proper layout and efficient construction.Select appropriate tools, fasteners, and materials for assigned tasks.Assist with layout activities to ensure alignment, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.Quality Workmanship & Craft Standards
Complete all work in alignment with O-A-Ks quality expectations, ensuring accuracy, level/plumb conditions, and clean finishing.Inspect assigned work areas for defects, inconsistencies, or required corrections and communicate issues promptly.Support punch list activities, repairs, and field adjustments to maintain high-quality outcomes.Document completed work and maintain thorough, organized records as neededSafety
Follow all O-A-K safety protocols, including PPE usage, tool safety, and adherence to site rules.Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas to support safe operations and reduce risks.Identify potential safety concerns or equipment issues and report them immediately.Use tools, equipment, and materials responsibly and in accordance with safety guidelines
