Surface plate layout inspectionsOperating and/or programming CMM equipmentPrecision measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, optical equipment, and related toolsASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirementsOur Calibration & Metrology Specialist is responsible for managing OTTO's calibration program and supporting inspection activities to ensure product quality, compliance, and measurement integrity. This role oversees internal and external calibration activities, maintains calibration standards and records, performs inspections to verify product conformance, and supports quality system initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and audit readiness.
The Calibration & Metrology Specialist will:
Calibration Management
Manage OTTO's calibration program, including scheduling, record maintenance, calibration interval tracking, and coordination of internal and external calibration activities.Perform calibration activities, including verification of measurement accuracy, documentation of results, and maintenance of calibration status identification.Coordinate the shipment, receipt, and tracking of equipment requiring external calibration or repair.Maintain calibration procedures, standards, records, and associated documentation.Review calibration certificates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.Investigate out-of-tolerance conditions and support corrective action activities related to measurement systems and gaging.Support internal, customer, and third-party audits related to calibration and quality systems.Inspection & Metrology
Perform incoming, in-process, final, and first article inspections using appropriate inspection methods and equipment, including CMMs, surface plate, optical, and mechanical measurement systems.Operate and support programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformance.Complete inspection reports and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Quality System Support
Support quality system activities including Material Review Board (MRB) processes, Material Rejection Reports (MRRs), internal audits, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R studies.Assist in maintaining compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.Provide training and guidance related to calibration, inspection, and measurement practices.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and process effectiveness.Manage multiple priorities effectively to ensure timely completion of calibration and inspection activities.Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.About you - What you'll bring to the table:
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.Minimum three (3) years of experience performing surface plate layout inspections.Experience in operating and/or programming CMM equipment preferred; experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software is highly desirable.Proficiency with precision measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, optical equipment, and related tools.Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.Experience with Net-Inspect preferred.ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Availability to work nonstandard or extended hours as business needs require.Physical and Visual Requirements

Our Supervisor, Tool & Die Design, manages the design process and workflow for a job shop environment, supporting both new and existing customers with tooling design solutions. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Engineering, and the Tool Room to deliver high-quality products and services on time. The position is responsible for developing progressive metal stamping tooling and providing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of customer tooling.
This role requires strong time management skills to produce accurate, high-quality designs under aggressive timelines while simultaneously supporting ongoing tool room projects.
Specifically, the Supervisor, Tool & Die Design will:
Collaborate with customers, Design Manager, and Tool Room Manager to establish design concepts for progressive dies, compound dies, stage tooling, jigs, and fixtures that meet or exceed customer requirements.Design and develop progressive metal stamping tools, trim dies, fixtures, and gages for new and existing products.Prepare strip layouts, plan views, bills of materials (BOMs), detail drawings, and related documentation.Create wire EDM blocks, jigs, fixtures, and other components to improve tool room efficiency and productivity.Develop complete tool assembly and component drawings using 3D and 2D design platforms.Work from engineering models, piece-part drawings, and assemblies to create accurate and manufacturable designs.Order purchased components as required to support tooling builds.Implement engineering changes to existing designs and execute ECNs through company business systems.Process engineering drawings and models through current PLM and ERP systems.Work directly with the tool room during the build and development of tooling to ensure designs produce parts that meet or exceed customer standards.Provide engineering solutions and technical support to the Sales team.Report project status, timelines, and risks to management on a regular basis.Collaborate with other designers and tool room staff to achieve high-quality results in time-sensitive situations.Manage in-house and outsourced designers to meet on-time delivery commitments.Work overtime as required to meet project deadlines.Assists with other related duties as required or assigned.What you'll need to bring to the table:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a full-time Tool Designer.Toolmaker background strongly preferred.Proven experience designing complete tool assemblies using solid modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).Experience with LogoPress (SolidWorks add-in) preferred.AutoCAD experience with Die Maker add-in preferred.Experience with PLM systems and Syteline ERP software preferred.Strong understanding of progressive metal stamping processes and tooling.Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.Occasional travel to customer sites required.What OTTO offers for this specific position:

Hours - 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday)
Specifically, the Molding Machine Operator 2nd shift will:
Basic molding machine setupConfirm proper material use, per BOM'sMaterial drying and loadingPerform inspection of work produced to ensure qualityMachine maintenance as requiredKeep equipment and work area cleanCount and progress work into stockRegrind material as requiredPerform SPC data collectionObserve department proceduresRun insert molded jobs as neededManage raw material in a manner that prevents contaminationMaintain cleanliness and order of raw material storageAssist with other related duties as required or assignedWhat you'll need to bring to the table:
Minimum 2 years in this position before being considered for Molding Technician TraineeAbility to lift 50 lbs. Target hourly hiring range: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour (plus 10% shift premium), based on qualifications and experience.Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it's fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year.
