Staff in this position are responsible for the delivery of fresh flowers and/or hard good products.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This is a 40 Hour per week flexible hours position. Saturdays is a must from 10am to 2pm. Remaining Hours to be achieved through agreement by candidate and manager.
    Assist with the duties necessary to run a retail floral shop that is also a Day Program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Support individuals served by following and adhering to OWC policies and individuals IP Plans. Ensuring the business operates within the company’s mission statement as well as supporting the individuals in our group supported employment program as needed. Assist to maintain a clean, neat and organized shop, deliveries, must be willing to use personal vehicle when needed. Assist with the processing of flowers, plants and merchandise. Contribute to the cleanliness of the interior & exterior of the facility, the overseeing of inventory both live goods and hard goods. Ringing up customers, helping bring customer purchases to their vehicles. Have Ability to work with our on-line floral sales sites. Assist with incoming deliveries and products. Ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Assist staff with making the incoming orders as needed. Participate in OWC fundraising events. Other duties as they arise.Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:Prior experience in the floral or garden center environment helpful but not mandatory. Willingness to learn how to use/work on a computer and its Point-of-Sale Software/label maker. Ability to work in a cold environment for long periods of time. Ability to work in hot environments for a long period of time. Ability to potentially stand for long periods of time. Ability to potentially kneel for an extended amount of time. Ability to walk on uneven surfaces. Must be able to work flexible hours. Ability to answer the phone and communicate with people. Ability to write legibly with or without assistance. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Background in human services also a plus.
