Onyx Aerospace is seeking talented Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural, and Propulsion Engineers with manufacturing experience to support the production of Space Launch System (SLS) hardware at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, as well as at key vendor sites across the United States. These positions will play a critical role in manufacturing engineering, technical oversight, and process development, ensuring high-quality aerospace hardware is produced on time and to mission-critical standards.
What You’ll DoSupport manufacturing process development, including creation of detailed work instructions for assembly, integration, and test activities.Interface with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendor partners to resolve production challenges and maintain technical compliance.Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.Apply engineering judgment and problem-solving skills to develop innovative approaches for complex manufacturing challenges.Provide technical and project management support for aerospace manufacturing and assembly activities.Lead small teams of engineers and subcontractors through design handoff, development, manufacturing, and hardware verification.Provide on-site engineering oversight at vendor facilities to ensure compliance with program requirements.What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or aerospace production support.Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations, including hardware build, assembly, and verification.Strong understanding of manufacturing process flows, engineering documentation, and quality assurance.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, multi-site environments.Strong communication, technical writing, and leadership skills.Willingness to relocate or travel to vendor sites across the United States as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
