Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with automotive diagnostics, and the ability to perform complex repairs on various vehicle systems. The Diesel Truck Mechanic will ensure that fleet vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our commitment to operational excellence.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7 am-4:30 pm
Payrate:$ 37-45 per hour.
Duties
Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel truck engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems using schematics and specialized tools.Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire services, alignment, and fluid replacements to maximize vehicle lifespan and safety.Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications.Repair and service heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and modifications of vehicle components.Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used in accordance with company policies.Assist with heavy lifting tasks and operate heavy machinery safely during maintenance procedures.Follow safety protocols diligently while working with air brakes, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other complex systems.Skills
Proven experience working in a dealership environment or similar automotive service setting with a focus on diesel trucks.Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspension components, and HVAC systems.Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems.Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and service technician experience to identify issues efficiently.Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or forklifts is advantageous.Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to communicate effectively with clients or team members.Capable of performing heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
