Position Summary
The Surface Mount Technology (SMT) programmer manages the data, programs, and machines used to automatically solder electronic components to new SMT Printed Circuit Boards. In performing this job, they are required to program and debug the programs used to run the SMT machine, as well as operate the machine itself, and inspect the final circuit board product. The programmer is responsible for verification of customer’s documentation as it pertains to the SMT manufacturing process, and for training new programmers. AOI programming experience is a plus but not required.
The SMT operator is responsible for creating build documentation and pick and place programs to facilitate SMT automated assembly. The Operator is required to verify the First Article using the customer BOM and drawings provided in SMT folder.
