Assigns ICD-10, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, modifiers, and CPT codes.Utilizes the DRG grouper, APC grouper, and other computer-based programs to ensure optimal reimbursement.Assists in the data collection for concurrent chart reviews on admissions.Remains current on insurance payer guidelines by reviewing monthly news bulletins.Monitors the timeliness of documentation to identify any areas that need to be evaluated.Assists in monitoring pre-claim edit data to ensure correct claims are billed.Manages assigned work list for account denials and insurance inquiries.Works on various departmental reports as assigned.Attends available training to remain current with coding guidelines as they change.Other duties as assigned. Receives, separates, and distributes clean linen.Monitors inventory, including verifying counts from outside laundry facility, reviewing wear and tear levels, recommending replacement as needed, repairs, and rewash.Receives, stocks, and distributes medical supplies.Keeps supply items stocked at indicated par levels.Records all linen items delivered to various departments by item, documenting pounds of linen daily and reporting total to materials manager.Routinely checks all supplies for outdates and reports outdated items to the Purchasing department.Organizes and distributes requisitioned supplies to hospital and clinic departments/locations.Maintains stock levels in various department supply rooms based upon established par levels.Other duties as assigned.
