    Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization whose motto is “We put people to work”. We were founded in 1916 and are one of the largest providers of rehabilitation services in the State of Ohio. 

    We currently have a Full-Time  opportunity available for creative, motivated, and enthusiastic employees who would like to begin a career working with and advocating for individuals with disabilities. The main function of this position is to support and assist those that we serve while building a strong foundation at their job sites leading to maintained successful employment and therefore economic stability.  

    Responsibilities:

    Foster and maintain strong relationships with employersAdvocate for the individuals that we serveEffectively and professionally communicate with Employers, Employees, Family Members, Residential Providers, State and County Level funding sourcesAccurately document services and provide evidence-based recommendations and strategiesAssist those we serve in learning job tasks in a way that grows independence and builds natural supports to ensure success at the job site.Travel to work sites in the Greater Cincinnati area to provide on-the-job supports

    Requirements:

    High School Diploma or GEDSix months experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational setting preferredComfortable using computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and WordMust be able to pass criminal, state, and federal background checks as well as DMV checksStrong decision making, time management, and professional communication skillsAble to work a flexible schedule including SaturdaysMush have sufficient auto insurance to transport individualsMust possess reliable transportation

    The Retail Merchandise Processor will partner with production and retail team members in a high energy fast-paced environment to perform a variety of operational functions that include receiving, sorting, pricing, processing and preparing donated merchandise to display for sale in a Goodwill retail store.

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Required Skills & Qualifications

    POSITION SUMMARY:  (WHAT, HOW, WHY)KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Outlet Team Member to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, assist with daily operations, and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product selection. Sales Support: Operate cash registers, process transactions accurately. Recycle: Placing proper items into their correct categories.  Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the outlet, including registers, displays, and common areas. Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to meet sales goals, resolve issues, and support the smooth operation of the outlet. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about current promotions, new arrivals, and product details to provide customers with up-to-date information. 

    PERIODICAL DUTIES: Housekeeping/Janitorial. Maintaining areas around the Outlet building. Bring shopping carts back into building/picking up debris. Unloading bins to assist with daily Recycling.  Other tasks as assigned. 
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:Work a flexible schedule in support of the store opening, production, and closing operations including work on weekends and holidays. Ability to be fluent in English.  Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all our customers in a friendly and engaging way.  Ability to problem solve, ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.  Must be able to follow directions well and communicate effectively. A minimum of six months of previous work experience, or the equivalent educational or vocational experience preferred. SKILLS: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional interpersonal and customer service skills. Reliable organizational skills and attention to detail. Dependable time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Basic computer literacy.     The Donation Attendant provides excellent customer service to Ohio Valley Goodwill donors and customers inside and outside of retail locations. Greets donors, receives donations, and supplies donors with receipts. Prepares donations for the production processing area and works to efficiently expedite merchandise in a fast-paced environment.

    As a member of Ohio Valley Goodwill you will be required to work a flexible schedule in support of the store opening, production, and closing operations. This schedule will include work on weekends and holidays.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. A minimum of six months of previous work experience, or the equivalent educational or vocational experience preferred.
    2. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all of our customers and donors.
    3. Ability to understand English and interact with customers and employees.
    4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
    5. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time.

    5. Comply with safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Retail General Manager or Retail Assistant Manager or Retail Supervisor on duty.
    6. Maintain a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards.
    7. Comply with all Ohio Valley Goodwill policies, including, but not limited to, reporting theft or misuse of company property or other illegal activities.
    8. Demonstrate ethical behavior and comply with Corporate Compliance.
    9. Adhere to work schedule set by supervisor.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Help truck drivers and their assistants load/unload donations into company vehicles for transport to/from other store locations.
    2. Maintain a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill standards, including compliance with OVGI dress code.
    3. Perform general housekeeping duties as needed including janitorial tasks such as cleaning restrooms or removing trash from the parking lot.
    4. Communicate OVGI’s mission and vision effectively to our donors and customers.
    5. Perform other duties as directed.

Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and twist for up to 8 hours. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently. While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate.Role and ResponsibilitiesProvides professional, friendly, and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and over the phone.Effectively processes sales transactions at the POS, including accurate transaction processing.Works a flexible schedule set by the supervisor in support of the store opening, production, and closing operations including work on weekends and holidays.Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer’s questions courteously and promptly.Maintains dressing room standards.Maintains sales floor presentation, communicating to management need for additional or removal of product.Maintains an orderly and clean register area.Execute store security procedures.Communicate store messages utilizing the paging system.Performs store housekeeping duties as needed to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).Assists donors and customers outside of retail locations, greet donors, receive donations, and supply donors with receipts.Communicates our mission and vision effectively to our donors and customers when asking for monetary donations at the POS.Other duties as assigned.

    Pay rate: $13.00 per hour.
