We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Banquet and Event Manager to oversee our exceptional events. This position offers a base salary with additional earnings from banquet service charges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Communication with event clients, Sales Department and various resort departments to effectively service all group business.Coordinate and conduct site visits while discussing event details with client.Attend tradeshows and group sales expos, as needed.Maintain, review and complete client files, contracts, reports, work schedules and calendars, sales estimates, and event orders.Collect deposits, process and monitor billing, track payments.Track group lodging blocks for release dates and monitor reservation pick-up.Work banquets, special events and off-premises functions.Hire, train, schedule and oversee banquet staff for appropriate and efficient set-up, service and tear down of events.Participate in various meetings, including weekly manager meetings, food & beverage meetings, and group sales meetings.Manage banquet equipment inventory.Requirements:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of two years’ related experience and/or training preferred; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, and kneel. The employee will seldom be required to climb and taste/smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently exposed to moderate noise, general office conditions and outdoor weather conditions. The employee will seldom be exposed to wet, hot, humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals or solutions.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
