    Job Description

    The Palletizer is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and begin growing your career in the glass manufacturing industry.  This role will operate strapping machines and automatic palletizers and supplies load-building materials.  


    Schedule: 8 hour rotating schedule (includes working 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift)

    The Palletizer will:

    Maintain supply of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping and other material required for palletizing and strapping wareCheck for proper application of straps around pallet loads (bulk and cased); places string ties and manual straps when requiredOperates automatic palletizer and automatic strapping machine, to prepare load of wareUnjams strapping machine and automatic palletizers as required Straightens loads, replaces bottles, discards damaged bulking materials, and checks load integrity Checks oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizersIdentify problems with equipment, may make very minor adjustments and reports malfunction of equipment to designated employeeMay manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions Performs clean-up and housekeeping duties 

    The Palletizer should have:

    Strong mechanical aptitudeGood interpersonal skillsBe highly safety consciousSolid attendance record in previous employment Forklift Experience PreferredQualifications

    Job Description

    The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager acts as a strategic partner and change agent, working with the NA Environmental and Health & Safety Departments to ensure consistent execution of regional EH&S policies and strategies. This role advises site leadership on EH&S objectives, challenges the status quo to drive improvement, and confidently pushes back when needed to maintain compliance and best practices. The position integrates EH&S into site culture and leads all phases of the plant’s environmental, health, and safety programs.

    The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will:

Checks load integrity.Takes roll of strapping material (60 lbs) to area, remove and replace spool of strapping material.Checks strapper tension with tension meter to make sure load is secured.Using forklift serves and make sure all shops are supplied with pallets, tier sheets, frames.Secures and transport resort loads as required.Checks oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers.Places rolls of wrap on stretch-wrapper as required. Manually operates stretch wrapper if out of automatic mode.Identify problems with equipment; may very minor adjustments and reports malfunction of equipment to Foreman or other designated employee.May manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions.Applies bar code tickets to production units.     Job Description

    MUST HAVE GLASS MANUFACTURING EXPERIENSE AND MUSH HAVE A JOURNEYMAN CARD.

    The Forming Operator - Journeyman operates the bottle forming machine, tools and equipment, performs defect analysis (gauging and visual) and necessary adjustments to the machine, feeder, stacker, etc. and assists with breakdown repairs and job changes.  

    The Plant Forming Operator/Journeyman will:

    Perform necessary doping and swabbing of mold equipment, adjust temperatures of mold equipment to the feeder and change, or assist in changing, blanks, molds, finish mold changes and record reason.Reports any bad glass, bad machine conditions, or defective machine parts which cannot be corrected to crew-leaders and supervisors.May be assigned responsibility for additional equipment, up to and including, the point at which the bottles enter the lehr.Gauge weight and selected physical dimensions on complete set-out and/or random sample and record using the computer terminal.Re-qualify all cavities following any major downtime

    The Forming Operator - Journeyman  should have:

    Previous experience with bottle tongs, hand tools, swabs, conveyors, ware gauges, computer terminal, etc. and materials including molten glass, molds, oil, dope, gloves, compressed air, etc.Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and some holiday coverageAbility to work safely in a hot, dirty and loud environmentCommitment to meeting quality standards, comply with SOP’s, and willing to learn SPCQualifications

    Job Description

    Our Batch and Furnace Development program is designed as a deep dive into the glass industry and our batch and furnace operations. The program will prepare you for a successful and long-lasting career within our batch and furnace department.

    During our Development Program you will learn everything about our processes, technologies and roles. The program provides practical experience: you will work and study in our Auburn, NY plant, shoulder to shoulder with our best managers and glassmakers, experiencing first-hand the glass manufacturing process. You will be offered challenging and diverse opportunities while being supported through a structured learning and development program, with access to a variety of on-the job activities, networking and social activities.

    This position is developmental in nature while supporting all aspects throughout the batch and furnace department program. Following this program, the individual will be on the path to a combustion engineer or batch and furnace manager at one of our plants within North America. The successful candidate in this program must be prepared to complete a manager approved project that is centered around energy savings and process improvement within the batch and furnace department.

    In the Batch and Furnace Development Program, you will learn about:

    Raw materials and cullet management: characteristics, properties, collection and treatment, testing and controlMelting technology: melting phenomena, glass conditioning, parameters, how to measure and controlEnd to end process of our furnace operations and engineering, including furnace management, heating process, furnace utilities and construction, energy management and furnace maintenanceGlass quality controls and color changesTroubleshooting glass defects and furnace issuesData analysis and cause-effect link in glass production

    Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $122,980 - $140,000 and includes a possible 15% short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

    Job Description

    The Production Operator-Temporary Summer Help sets up ware on lehrs and conveyors, dislodges ware on straight line equipment, adjusts the flow of empty cartons on conveyors as required, and visually inspects ware and discards defective ware. 

    The Production Operator-Temporary Summer Help should have:

    Mechanical aptitudeBe highly safety consciousA desire to learn and grow within our industry

    Understand carton quality requirements and perform checks to ensure those requirements are metAttends palletizers, supplying pallets and tier sheetsOperates controls and ensures that tiers are properly formed and transportedVisually inspect ware and component parts and discards defective wareRotate/transfer among departments as directedQualifications

    High School Diploma or GEDMust be at least 18 years of agePrevious experience in an industrial environment is a plusMust be able to work a 12-hour night shift, as well as holidays and weekends as required Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis
