    ABOUT NYMBUS

Nymbus (https://nymbus.com/) is not just a leader in fintech; we are a community of innovators passionate about reimagining banking. Our modern core platform and cloud based technology serve as the backbone for financial institutions eager to modernize and excel.

Nymbus is building the next generation of fintech platforms, and Domain Owners are among the most consequential leadership roles in delivering that vision. This role owns the Digital Banking domain: the product surface that defines how end users and businesses interact with their financial institution through digital channels.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company, with occasional travel required for team collaboration or client engagement.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

The Domain Owner for Digital Banking is the senior product leader responsible for the strategic direction, squad output, and commercial outcomes of the Digital Banking domain at Nymbus.

You lead multiple squads that build digital banking experiences — from retail and commercial account management to digital account opening, onboarding, self-service, and cross-channel consistency. You manage Builders directly, collaborate daily with Architects and Shippers assigned to your domain, and are accountable for everything your domain ships.

This is not a traditional product management role. You operate with four capabilities simultaneously: strategic product leadership, people leadership of Builders, domain subject matter expertise, and AI-first execution. You are expected to be a hands-on SME in digital banking systems — someone who has designed, built, or deeply operated digital banking platforms and can guide your teams through the complexity of real bank workflows.

    THE OPERATING MODEL

You operate within Nymbus' AI-native solution operating model:

Domain Owner (This Role): Owns the domain's strategic direction, manages Builders, drives commercial outcomes, and ensures squad output meets quality and velocity standards. You are the most senior product voice in your domain.

Builders (Your Direct Reports): Own product intent, specification, and implementation within each squad. You hire, develop, and performance-manage Builders. You set their priorities, remove their blockers, and ensure they operate at the AI-first standard Nymbus requires.

Architects (Collaboration Partners): Report through the Architecture organization but collaborate with you daily. They own system design, technical integrity, and cross-squad consistency within your domain. You coordinate with them on data models, API contracts, and platform integration.

Shippers (Collaboration Partners): Report through the Product Operations Spine but collaborate with you daily. They own delivery quality, release management, and operational readiness. You coordinate with them on acceptance criteria, deployment cadence, and production stability.

    YOUR DOMAIN: DIGITAL BANKING

The Digital Banking domain encompasses the product surfaces through which end users and businesses interact with their financial institution digitally. Current and planned pods include:Digital Base / Retail: Core retail digital banking experience — account management, transaction views, transfers, bill pay, alerts, profile management, and mobile-first UX patterns.Digital Commercial: Commercial banking digital experience — multi-user access, entitlements, ACH/wire origination, account analysis, positive pay, and complex approval workflows.Deposit Origination (shared with Origination domain): Digital account opening flows — consumer and business deposits, identity verification, KYC/CIP orchestration, funding, and stateful onboarding workflows.

The Domain Owner for Digital Banking owns the product surface that most directly shapes how people experience their financial institution. You are not managing a feature team — you are leading the construction of the digital face of banking for community institutions across America.

Nymbus is building the next generation of fintech platforms and that requires a new kind of product builder. This role is the engine of the squad — the person who takes product intent and turns it into working software. You will design, specify, and build products using AI-first methodology, working hand-in-hand with your Architect and Shipper to deliver outcomes end-to-end.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company, with occasional travel required for team collaboration or client engagement.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

At Nymbus, the AI Product Builder is the primary maker in our squad triad model.

You are responsible for transforming product vision into reality. Working within a dedicated squad alongside an Architect (who owns system design and technical integrity) and a Shipper (who owns delivery, quality, and release), you own the build — from specification through implementation. You operate with an AI-first, spec-first mindset, leveraging tools like Kiro and Claude to accelerate every phase of product creation.

This is not a traditional developer or product owner role. You are a full-stack product builder who authors specifications, writes code, designs interactions, and iterates rapidly using AI-assisted workflows. You own the "what" and the "how" — translating domain problems into working, shippable software.

    THE SQUAD TRIAD MODEL

You operate as one-third of a high-autonomy squad:

Builder (This Role): Owns product intent, specification, and implementation. You are the primary creator — designing system behavior, authoring specs, and iterating with AI tools to produce working software.

Architect (Your Partner): Owns system design, technical integrity, and cross-squad consistency. The Architect ensures your solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with platform architecture. You collaborate daily on data models, API contracts, and integration patterns.

Shipper (Your Partner): Owns delivery, quality assurance, release management, and operational readiness. The Shipper ensures what you build meets quality standards, passes validation, and reaches production reliably. You collaborate on acceptance criteria, test coverage, and deployment strategy.

Together, the triad owns outcomes end-to-end — from problem definition through production operation.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

    Product Design and Specification

    Squad Collaboration

Partner daily with the Architect on API design, data modeling, and system architecture decisionsCoordinate with the Shipper on acceptance criteria, testability, and release readinessParticipate directly in technical design discussions and tradeoff decisions with the full triadSurface blockers, risks, and dependencies to the squad early and proactivelyMaintain shared context with squad partners through specifications, documentation, and working demos

    CORE TRAITS

High Agency: Takes ownership of outcomes and drives work forward without waiting for permission or heavy process. Identifies what should be built and builds it.Problem Solver: Thrives in ambiguity. Frames problems clearly, explores solution spaces, and converges on practical approaches quickly.Builder Mindset: Measures success by what ships. Prefers building and iterating over planning and discussing. Gets energy from creating working software.Experimenter: Tests ideas quickly using AI tools and iterates based on results. Explores multiple approaches before committing.Quality Driven: Focuses on correctness, clarity, and long-term maintainability. Treats specifications and code as durable assets.Scale Oriented: Designs with performance, extensibility, and operational realities in mind from the start.Ownership: Takes pride in end-to-end delivery. Does not hand off and walk away — stays accountable through production.

WHAT WE ARE EXPLICITLY NOT LOOKING FOR

Backlog administrators who manage tickets but do not buildRequirement translators removed from implementationDevelopers who wait for fully specified work before startingPeople uncomfortable with ambiguity or cross-functional ownershipThose unwilling to adopt AI-first development practicesIndividuals who view their role as narrowly scoped to a single function

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout Nymbus

Nymbus is a cloud-native core banking platform and managed services provider serving community banks and credit unions. We deliver the technology infrastructure, operational services, and digital experience capabilities our clients need to compete and grow. Our managed services model means we are not just a software vendor; we are embedded in the day-to-day operations of our clients' institutions, accountable for outcomes, not just uptime.

    Role Purpose

The SVP of Banking Operations leads the full managed services delivery function at Nymbus, spanning contact center operations, digital banking support, fraud operations, onboarding, and lending support. This leader is accountable for current-state operational excellence that keeps clients and SLAs intact while simultaneously redesigning the operating model from the ground up using AI-first principles, agentic automation, and scalable architecture.

This is a rare role. It sits at the intersection of enterprise-grade operational accountability and a genuine mandate to build something new. The right candidate will not optimize the current model. They will hold it loosely, keep it running, and replace it with something better.

    Why This Role, Why Now

Nymbus is in active transformation. We are rebuilding how managed services delivers client outcomes with agentic automation and scalable process architecture as the baseline, not as an enhancement layer. The SVP of Banking Operations inherits strong day-to-day leaders and a capable team. The job is to set the strategic direction, remove the ceiling on what that team can accomplish, and build the model that serves our next 100 clients as efficiently as our first.

Banking Operations is also a revenue-generating function. This leader will work alongside sales, partnerships, and product to identify expansion opportunities within the managed services book, support client retention and upsell conversations, and build the commercial case for new service capabilities as the operating model matures.

We are not looking for a great operations manager in the traditional sense. We are looking for a builder who happens to be an excellent operator. The right person for this role sees AI not as a tool on top of operations but as the operating model itself.

    AI-First Mindset

Has led or is deeply experienced with AI and automation adoption in an operational context. Does not treat AI as an enhancement layer. Knows how to design processes from scratch with agentic AI built in. Has an informed view of where automation creates risk in a regulated environment and how to manage it.

    Regulated Industry Experience

Understands the constraints of operating in a regulated environment: compliance requirements, audit readiness, and what cannot be automated without oversight. Fintech, banking, credit union, or adjacent regulated services experience strongly preferred. Does not need to be a compliance expert; needs to know where the lines are.

    Transformation Leadership

Has led a team through a meaningful operational redesign at speed. Has managed the complexity of maintaining current client commitments while building toward a fundamentally different model. Has made hard calls about what to automate, what to sunset, and what to protect.

    Commercial and Client Orientation

Treats operations as a client relationship and a growth lever, not just a cost center. Has experience in client-facing operational roles or in environments where service delivery is the product. Comfortable in commercial conversations about pricing, service packaging, and capability expansion.

    Builder Mentality

Energized by ambiguity and the absence of a playbook. Not looking to manage a stable operation; looking to transform one. Has designed processes, teams, and systems from scratch. Is not waiting for perfect information to move.
