Summary:
The Event Installer / Driver is a critical, multi-faceted position responsible for delivering the Nuage Designs "white glove" service from warehouse to venue. This role combines safe, compliant operation of company vehicles with flawless on-site installation and superior client interaction. Driving is not 100% of the time; the core function includes a combination of driving, physical installation duties, and representing Nuage Designs to clients on-site. The successful candidate must possess strong physical endurance, leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Driving, Vehicle Operations, and Compliance
Safely operate and maintain all company vehicles, including light-duty vans and medium-duty box trucks (up to 26ft).
Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, mileage, and your Record of Duty Status (RODS) to ensure strict compliance with all DOT and company regulations.
Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking maintenance, fuel levels, and cleanliness, reporting any issues immediately.
Communicate effectively with the Logistics and Warehouse teams regarding delivery and pickup schedules and any potential delays or issues.
Assist with the safe and secure loading and unloading of event linens, chargers, event furniture, and other materials at both the warehouse and event venues, ensuring products are protected from damage during transit.
On-Site Installation and Client Service
Act as the primary on-site representative for Nuage Designs, embodying the company's commitment to "white glove" service and professionalism.
Serve as the on-site team lead, directing the delivery crew to ensure a smooth, efficient, and precise installation and strike (take-down).
Confirm that all products delivered are correct and that the setup aligns precisely with the provided client specifications or floor plans.
Maintain open, professional, and positive communication with clients, vendors, and venue staff, handling team dynamics and proactively addressing any on-site questions or issues to guarantee a positive Nuage experience.
Maintain a professional appearance at all times, wearing a clean, neat Nuage-branded uniform (or client-supplied uniform, when required) from the start to the end of the shift.
Warehouse Support
Assist with the processing of customer orders, ensuring the accuracy of product count and quality before loading.
Assist with general warehouse duties when not driving, such as receiving, sorting, picking, and packing orders.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role that blends strategic human resources leadership with day-to-day payroll operations across multiple states — while serving as the primary culture carrier and employee champion for our Chicago team.

Input new Trade Account applications into IE, notifying the associated Account Executive that the account is established and ready for outreach
Answer general inquiries as submitted through our website contact form or to our general inquiry inbox, as well as assisting with phone calls - directing clients to the appropriate Account Executive or other department
Review Design Trunk orders submitted via the website and ensure proper client data management by entering new client information into Intellievent (IE) and updating existing client profiles to reflect Design Trunk ownership, supporting future collection launches and outreach efforts.
Input (and occasionally, revise) non-revenue generating orders on behalf of the Sales Team. This includes orders for samples, swatches, photoshoots, hospitality/donations, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities

Driver Leadership & Training Development
Design and execute a structured onboarding program for all new drivers joining the Miami headquarters team.
Develop and conduct continuous training sessions on safe driving, advanced material handling, route optimization, proper client interaction protocols, and familiarity with DOT requirements for CDL Class A, Class B, and Non-CDL drivers.
Conduct regular "route rides" with drivers to evaluate performance, adherence to safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Collaborate on creating and updating the comprehensive Driver Manual and a detailed Route Checklist to standardize delivery procedures.
Utilize the Samsara platform to monitor driver performance, including oversight of arrival and departure times at the warehouse, venues, and necessary locations for accurate time-tracking and route compliance. Order Preparation and Quality ControlVerify all details in the system, including dates, times, addresses, item lists, and special requirements (e.g., restricted hours, assembly needs, limited access). Communicate any inconsistencies immediately to the supervisor.
Conduct a thorough inspection of each piece, ensuring it is clean, undamaged, and fully functional. Perform necessary detailing (polishing glass, furniture) and document the condition of items before loading.
Select and utilize appropriate protective materials (covers, blankets, plastics, dividers) for each item. Ensure vehicles are loaded securely to prevent movement or damage during transport, and label all containers clearly by type and destination.
Confirm the assigned route and schedule with the logistics coordinator, and verify that the delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in optimal working condition.
Greet the client or event coordinator cordially. Confirm the unloading area and access route before commencing work. Handle all inventory with extreme care, using clean hands or gloves.
Precisely follow client plans or instructions for item placement. Ensure symmetry, alignment, impeccable presentation, and verify that all assembled items are level, clean, and free of visible marks.

Ability to climb ladders and work at heights consistent with warehouse racking environments
Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods and move throughout a large warehouse facility

The employee may occasionally be required to work in outdoor loading dock areas subject to varying weather conditions.
Personal Protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, high visibility vests, and gloves is required in designated areas.
Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
