    MISSION: The Soldering Assembler is responsible for surface-mount, through-hole, and mechanical assembly of a wide range of radio frequency (RF) modules, systems, and subsystems. This position requires the ability to take direction from the Production Lead to achieve results in a production environment and the ability to respond quickly to customer needs and maintain flexibility. An individual successful in this role must be able to work cross-domain and provide high quality assembly of defense and aerospace electronic assemblies.

    YEAR 1 ACCOUNTABILITIES AND METRICS

    Develop soldering skillsMetric: Obtain J-STD-001 CertificationDemonstrate basic operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tools including Soldering Iron, Solder Paste Machine, Reflow Over, Pick and Place Machine, PCB Washing Machine, and other equipment as defined by supervisor.Metric: Demonstrate competency in use to supervisorAssemble printed circuit board assemblies with minimal rework.Metric: Rework is minimal and does not exceed the bounds of NuWaves' quality thresholds or put projects at riskWork within the bounds of AS9100 Quality Management System, producing quality work product, following procedures, and documenting as appropriate.     About the Role:

    The SMT Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision and efficiency. This position ensures that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety protocols. The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up machines, loading materials, monitoring the production process, and performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly are essential to prevent defects and ensure product reliability. Ultimately, the SMT Operator contributes to the seamless manufacturing workflow, supporting the delivery of high-quality electronic products to customers in a timely manner.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent.Prior experience operating SMT equipment or in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process documentation, and basic technical drawings.Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Certification or formal training in SMT operation or electronics assembly.Experience with specific SMT machines such as pick-and-place systems (Fuji AIMEX II), solder paste printers, AOI (Koh Young), and reflow ovens.Familiarity with IPC standards related to electronic assembly.Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electronic equipment.Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.

    MISSION: The Business Development Representative is responsible for creating and maintaining customer relationships and driving sales bookings for both NuWaves' standard Product lines and Engineering Design Services. Working directly with the Director of Business Development to achieve strategic goals, this position is critical in growing the sales pipeline and building key business relationships for long term results.
