Nova Academy of Cosmetology is growing - and we're looking for a passionate, driven, experienced cosmetology professional who wants to take the next step in their career . This is not just an instructor role. This is a leadership-track position designed for someone who wants to mentor instructors, elevate the student experience, and eventually become the School Manager / Lead Instructor of our cosmetology program.
We will fully support your growth, including covering all costs for obtaining your School Manager License within your first six months.

Job Summary
As the Lead Cosmetology Instructor, you will guide, develop, and support our students and instructor team. You will set the tone for excellence in education, curriculum delivery, student engagement, and professional culture. This role blends teaching, leadership, and operational support - perfect for someone excited to grow into full school management.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student Development
Teach and mentor students in both classroom and clinic settings.
Ensure students master core skills, terminology, and professional standards.
Support students one-on-one when additional help is needed.
Promote essential career skills: sales, up-servicing, pre-booking, guest experience, and goal setting.
Leadership & Team Collaboration
Serve as a lead instructor and support the development of the teaching team.
Partner with the School Manager and Student Services to maintain a positive and professional campus culture.
Represent instructors and students fairly and objectively.
Operational Responsibilities
Participate in open/close duties and Saturday opens as part of leadership rotation.
Prepare classrooms and clinic floors for effective learning.
Monitor and communicate student progress.
Attend and participate in ongoing education and leadership development.
Maintain accurate grading and deliver timely grade sheets.
Uphold curriculum standards and follow lesson plan approval processes.
Qualifications
Licensed Cosmetologist (required)
Teaching experience preferred but not required
Strong communication, leadership, and coaching abilities
Passion for student success and team collaboration
Must be willing to obtain a School Manager License within 6 months (fully supported + paid by Nova)
