SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
The Engineering Project Manager plays a critical office-based role in supporting the successful planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects. This position focuses on technical documentation, cross-functional coordination, and team supervision while ensuring projects remain aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations. The role partners closely with project management, engineering, and operations to keep projects moving efficiently and predictably.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting activitiesCoordinate technical documentation including drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersSupervise and provide day-to-day direction to assigned project staff and junior engineersMaintain accurate project records, logs, and document control systemsTrack deliverables, milestones, and action items to support on-time project executionServe as a central point of coordination between engineering, procurement, operations, and project managementAssist with risk identification, issue tracking, and resolution planningPrepare internal and client-facing project reports and status updatesEnsure compliance with quality standards, internal procedures, and contractual requirementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to project controls and workflowsOther duties as assigned.
JOB SCOPE:
The individual works within established guidelines with some decision-making authority including:
Responsible to design, manufacture and deliver projects in within established budgets.Provides design solutions related to customer needs per industry standards such as UPC, IPC, IAPMO, ASME etc.Provides in plant design solutions to meet industry standards such as OHSA, NEC, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise 2-6 employees in the Engineering department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
Daily direct and electronic interaction with Engineering Employees regarding all aspects of engineering projects.Daily phone and electronic interaction with Customers regarding project scope and schedule.Daily direct and electronic contact with Operations management, Plant management and lead men regarding all aspects of project manufacturing and scheduling.Weekly phone and electronic interaction with company sales personnel regarding project scope and schedule.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD applicationsAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural)3–5 years of experience in a project engineering, engineering coordination, or project support rolePrior experience supervising or leading employees in an office or technical environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExperience supporting engineering or construction projects in an office-based capacityFamiliarity with document control systems, ERP platforms, and scheduling toolsExperience working in a regulated or quality-driven environment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Professional Engineer License strongly preferred.Membership is ASCE preferred.

About the Job:
The Maintenance Mechanic performs repair and preventative maintenance work on gas, diesel, and heavy equipment; diagnoses and repairs electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and air conditioners; perform safety compliance inspections; and diagnose and repair a wide variety of gasoline or diesel-powered heavy equipment with unique and complex drive, control and braking units. Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts, orders parts required to maintain repair part inventories and works collaboratively with equipment repair mechanics, production counterparts, and vendors to ensure production workflow.
Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities:
Must be competent with the use of PC, email, text messaging, internet research, and software-based maintenance.Evaluate the work environment for safe working conditions prior to any work being performed.Responsible for Lockout and Arc Flash procedures.Communicate with the maintenance supervisor, affected employees, plant leadership, and maintenance mechanics on downtime, equipment issues, repair ETA’s, and parts and supply needs.Responsible for maintaining and improving department lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.Moderate skills in welding and fabrication. Fabricates replacement parts for equipment or safety itemsTroubleshooting and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Troubleshooting and repair of power transmission systems such as motors, gear reducers, couplers, and precision shaft alignments.Must be able to perform Root Cause Analysis exercises on equipment failures, using tools such as 5-whys and cause and effect systems.Installs power and lighting circuits and repairs distribution circuits.Runs new conduit and wiring for machines, equipment, and lighting.Inspects, maintains, tests, and repairs all electric-powered equipment and machines.Reads and interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and repair manuals to provide required technical support.Starts and tests equipment or machinery before returning it to production and works closely with maintenance technician.Assists in the company's Preventative Maintenance Program and follows all safety rules and regulations.Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers and coordinate findings and recommendations with the h Maintenance, Production, on, and Controls Department.Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.Read precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, bore gauges, and dial indicators.Assist other mechanics in the performance of mechanical repairs as required.
