The practice of Physical Therapy shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementing, education, communication and demonstration of leadership to address the needs of patients and their families as well as to foster a positive working relationship among professionals and ancillary staff. Responsibilities
Care Management
* Participates in patient care conferences with other related health services, patient, and family to review patient's progress and evaluate goals.
* Develops appropriate plan of care that include goals and home instructions in conjunction with other team members, patient and family.
* Delegates selected treatment to supportive personnel with assumption of responsibility for care of patient and continuing supervision of supportive personnel.
Documentation
* Plans specific measures to meet assessed learning needs and documents in patient record.
* Recognizes and addresses patient, family, and appropriate others in the learning needs of the individual.

The Transporter is responsible for providing patient transportation in accordance with the Nursing Plan of Care and Medical/Surgical Standards of Care and Practice. The Transporter may provide basic life support to the ill or injured patient while being transported to and from departments within the hospital. S/he performs other duties as assigned or directed that are within the scope and abilities of the individual's training. The Transporter may interact with patients and/or families, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Responsibilities
Patient Care
* Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or beds as requested to include transport of patients on oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, and appropriate drips.
* With assistance, transfers patients to or from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
* During discharge, assists patients in and out of vehicles and escorts or transports them to and from hospital lobby and open doors.
* Keeps RN informed of any changes in patient behaviors/status.
* Ensures wheelchair parts in each department/area of need.

* Accurately utilizes the patient flow system to respond to and complete transport jobs.

Overview

RNs hired prior to 7/1/2016 without a BSN or without a BSN-in-process promoted to Charge RN must obtain their BSN degree within 6 years of their promotion date. If the requirement is not completed by that due date, the Charge Nurse may step down from their position or retire.
Existing Charge RNs: Employees in Charge Nurse roles as of 7/1/2016 without a BSN, must obtain their BSN degrees no later than 6/30/2022. If the requirement is not completed by that due date, the Charge Nurse may step down from their position or retire.
