    SUMMARY

    The Campus Director provides leadership, direction, supervision, and accountability for the Long Island Campus Doctor of Chiropractic Program. The Campus Director organizes, directs, evaluates, and supervises the campus staff. Assists and promotes positive interactions with adjunct faculty and students on-site. The Campus Director provides instructional leadership, course instruction, student support, technology support, and oversees scheduling of the Long Island Campus Doctor of Chiropractic Program.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.     Administrative Responsibilities (60% of Professional Effort)

    Establishes and maintains a safe, effective learning climate in the College by implementing student behavior, attendance, social-emotional supports and campus safety programs which are aligned with College policies.Coordinates, implements, and monitors instructional schedules and room reservations that provides structure to meet the student, faculty and programmatic needs. Ensures coordination of effective instructional supports with a master schedule.Directs and assists students by facilitating smooth communication related to College policy, process and supporting classes, registration, permissions, technology, support services, etc.Works collaboratively with campus community members to support the operations of the Long Island Campus.Demonstrates positive, collaborative leadership and participates in collegial problem solving in a variety of situations and departments, emphasizing teamwork and beneficial effects on student learning.Supports the Office of the Registrar with student registration, scheduling, and faculty grade entry to ensure timely reporting and processing of student information. Supports enrollment management and student affairs regarding application and admission procedures for students enrolling on the Long Island Campus.Works collaboratively with partner institutions to support enrollment at Northeast College.Works with leadership and faculty to facilitate ordering and funding for equipment required to support the program.Maintains equipment and reports malfunctioning or broken items for repair and/or initiates replacement of items as needed.Ensures programs and instruction are in alignment with accreditation standards. Provides requested data, information and support for evaluations and program reviews.Organizes campus operations around improvement of instruction by maintaining safe and orderly environments.Analyzes program facilities, equipment, and materials and makes recommendations for needed changes. Manages campus facilities, supports safety, crisis, and evacuation plans, and ensures the security of building along with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.Supervises and evaluates administrative assistant.Provides support to academic program leadership in scheduling and hiring of faculty at the Long Island Campus. Provides information and data to be used for evaluation as requested.Assists in the organization and operation of campus events to support faculty, staff, students, enrollment and the campus community.Performs other duties as assigned.

    Course Instruction and Instructional Leadership (40% of Professional Effort)

    Provides lead and assist laboratory instruction for diagnosis and technique courses in collaboration with the Seneca Falls full-time faculty.Uses educational best practices in laboratory instruction.Mentors adjunct faculty in educational best practices in laboratory instruction.Provides student advising and mentorship.Engages in ongoing classroom observations of lecture and laboratory instruction to promote academic excellence.Proctors examinations.

    METHODS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

    Verbal and written communication with Assistant Vice President for Chiropractic.Verbal and written feedback from faculty, staff, and students, as well as other college stakeholders.Collaborates regularly with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and relevant academic stakeholders.Responsible for the supervision of the administrative assistant of the Long Island Campus.Annual performance evaluation by the Assistant Vice President for Chiropractic with input from stakeholders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position:

    Education and Training

    Possess an earned D.C., Ph.D., or terminal degree in a related field.If D.C., licensed to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic in New York State for teaching clinical science subjects, e.g. CLS, DIA, and TCH courses.

    Experience

    Minimum of three years’ experience teaching.Minimum of three years' experience in clinical practice, preferred.Leadership experience in higher education or a related field, preferred.

    Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Experience working with faculty and managing course scheduling. Experience with state, regional and programmatic accreditation. Demonstrated aptitude for teaching health science students.Demonstrated commitment to student success. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents. Strong leadership and training skills that cover a multi-faceted area, which is collaborative, data informed and focused on student success. Working knowledge of best practices that result in increased student engagement, retention, and graduation with a focus on graduate students. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to function in a team. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.Previous Title IX compliance experience preferred.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Your first responsibility always is to protect the well-being of each individual swimmer.


    Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours.


    Actively guards and scan the pool area at all times; refrains from socializing while guarding.


    Communicate and enforce all Northeast College policies, procedures, and New York State of Health regulations in a personable and professional manner.


    Educate patrons, inform them of the purpose, and need for rules and regulations.


    Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment.

    Respond quickly to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by college policy.


    Administer any first aid needed by a victim of an accident.


    Document any incidents and/or injuries.

    Never leave the pool unattended; always lock the door when exiting the pool.

    Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons.

    MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

    Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time.     General Description

    The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary support position for the educational program at the Long Island campus. The Administrative Assistant performs support duties common to academic teaching departments, as determined by the department head, and is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting with daily operations, coordinating paperwork and schedules for interviews, organizing events and meetings, providing clerical support to faculty, and ensuring technological equipment is available and in good working order. The position is a full-time in-person appointment requiring 35 hours per week of service to the College.

    Organizational Relationships Reports to the Long Island Campus Director.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities for Online ProgramsThis position works collaboratively with the Long Island Campus Director and Assistant Dean of Clinical Education to provide administrative support to an academic teaching department by scheduling academic appointments, meetings, and travel, filing, researching files and records, and preparing and proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested.Serve as a first-line resource to assist faculty by answering questions and providing information, locating desired information and materials, typing, collating, or otherwise assisting in test preparation, preparing and/or proofreading documents, correspondence, and other material, and obtaining desk copies of textbooks.Serve as a first-line resource to assist students by determining who can best provide information needed by the student, providing basic and initial assistance to students with questions about classes, registration, permissions, etc., using established guidelines (information in course catalogs, departmental and college documents, and established policies and procedures).Supports the work of the campus by maintaining an inventory of office supplies, instructional supply needs, and utilizing the appropriate process to pay for goods or services purchased by the department.Coordination and management of campus events, as directed, by securing space, equipment, food, preparing invitations, announcements, agendas, brochures, packets, purchasing awards, making travel arrangements and reservations, and assisting with the event as it occurs.Supports the administrative business functions of the campus, scheduling the use of classrooms, facilities, or meeting rooms, and maintaining the security of classrooms, labs, equipment, and records.Assist with proctoring of exams as needed.Record, generate and distribute meeting minutes for department/program meetings as assigned.Ensures educational equipment and technology are available and in good working order.     General Description

    Reporting to the Dean of Clinical Education, the Instructor - Clinical Educator/IPE is primarily responsible for delivering clinical education and developing/overseeing opportunities for student IPE. The position is a full-time faculty appointment requiring service to the College divided primarily among teaching, scholarship and service, as well as some administrative duties.

    Organizational RelationshipsReports primarily to the Dean of Clinical Education for duties related to clinical education and secondarily to the Assistant Vice President for Chiropractic for duties related to interprofessional education in the non-patient care portion of the curriculum.Collaborates with faculty, staff and students within the chiropractic program.Collaborates with the Clinical Educator Coordinator.

    Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesIssue quantitative and qualitative credits and provide feedback to students regularly per assigned duties.Monitor student assessments and assign remediations for labs, Round Robins, Radiology and Metacompetencies. Conduct exam preparations for Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), Clinical Competencies Exams (CCEs), and National Board Exams (NBCE) as needed.Conduct Round Robin sessions.Prepare reports for and conduct assigned 5- and 10-week mentor meetings.Review student developed materials and content and oversee the evaluation/assessment of outreach events.As educational lead for the Seneca Falls site, provides oversight of all chiropractic student educational experiences per all HCA and CLS course syllabi and course requirements, including but not limited to: scheduling, orientation, lectures, patient care, quantitative and qualitative assessment, evaluation, and submission of course grade. Participate in Department meetings and mandatory professional development activities. Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism and compliance with Department standards.Identify and develop opportunities for students to experience IPE in all clinical locations in conjunction with the administrator at each site.Work with the Dean of Clinical Education to develop and expand assessment methods that meet the course objectives related to IPE and CCE meta competencies.     General Description

    Members of the faculty are responsible for the instruction of the curriculum and the assessment of student learning. Faculty advance the mission of the institution through their work in the areas of teaching, research and scholarly activities and citizenship in accordance with the parameters of the Faculty Handbook.

    Organizational Relationships

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Plan and present course material in a logically organized manner; establishing course objectives and requirements and communicating them to students; selecting and ordering texts and supplemental materials; preparing, administering, and grading papers and examinations; and assigning grades without discrimination, in accordance with the nondiscrimination policy as it appears in the College catalog.

    2. Provide students with appropriate, current course material consistent with the overall curriculum and profession; assuring student comprehension and competency; and providing unbiased outcome assessments.

    3. Encourage student participation and interaction, be sensitive to class response, deal with students ethically, allot ample time for consultation, and seek a professional rapport with student.

    4. Motivate and academically challenge students, be dedicated to subject material and the teaching profession, display self-confidence, and communicate a sense of enthusiasm for pursuit of knowledge.

    5. Academically assist, advise, and counsel students regarding their work in classes and recognize when a student requires professional assistance with problems of a personal or academic nature so that professional help can be obtained.

    6. Participate in the accreditation and assessment process.

    7. Support the program director to assure effective program operations.

    8. Participate in periodic review and revision of course materials to ensure integration of current knowledge within the field into traditionally accepted subject matter.
