    Northeast Center for Youth & Families, Inc. (NCYF) is made up of a team of devoted and highly skilled professionals and paraprofessionals who provide quality care to the individuals we serve. Our agency is led by a passionate and involved leadership team based out of our Easthampton main office.

    Residential Counselor: $24.00 Per Hour

    Northeast Center for Youth & Families (NCYF) is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated Residential Counselors to join our Residential Services team. Residential Counselors work closely with our residents in therapeutic group homes to guide them to success while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Full-time schedules are available.

    If you are seeking meaningful and challenging work that will provide you with experience to help you achieve a degree in social work or another field of human services, we can provide that for you. You will work directly with youth to implement treatment plans, lead/model activities of daily living through effective use of structure and routine and support the treatment philosophy of the program, centered around the trauma-informed care model. A successful Residential Counselor with NCYF will have the ability to assess and evaluate situations, have a high level of initiative, and have knowledge of acceptable behavior as it relates to at-risk youth. They would also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and can communicate efficiently with parents, schools, DCF, DMH, and other community supports. New employees will gradually assimilate in to the NCYF culture and we will work with you to help you develop your competencies so that you can fully enjoy our collaborative efforts.

    Position Requirements:

     High School Diploma or equivalent with experience in youth services; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.Demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of trauma informed care.Adult & Child CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred (we will train staff)Approved CORI & DCF background checks (performed by the EEC)Approved driving background checkValid driving licenseReliable transportation requiredMust be at least 21 years old.NCYF provides paid training for all employees.     Therapeutic Counselor

    Northeast Center for Youth & Families (NCYF) is seeking engaging, enthusiastic individuals for Therapeutic Counselor roles in our Therapeutic Day Program for at-risk youth located in Westfield, MA We are looking for people who are available to work Monday-Friday from 12:30pm-6:30pm. 

    NCYF Therapeutic Counselors aid in the development of emotional strengths and life skills for individual youths by co-leading therapeutic activities and community trips and teaching and modeling age-appropriate social and living skills.

    A well-qualified Therapeutic Counselor is creative, supportive of youth initiatives, and able to engage with clients and their interests while maintaining proper professional boundaries. 

    Successful Therapeutic Counselors with NCYF have knowledge of appropriate behaviors as it relates to at-risk youth, are skilled in crisis avoidance and intervention, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Therapeutic Counselors must be able to assess and evaluate situations and guide and redirect youth clients as a situation requires. NCYF Therapeutic Counselors are responsible for completing daily logs and required paperwork and must have accuracy in reporting. 

    Therapeutic Counselors assist with daily program organization such as cooking, shopping, and activity preparation as well as providing transportation for clients to and from NCYF sites in agency vehicles, and other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor.

    To be qualified, candidates must possess the following:

    High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field; Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferredMust be at least 21 years of ageValid driving license in active status and reliable transportationMust work some evening hours (program runs until 6:30 PM)Approved CORI, DCF and driving background checks
