The 50-bed hospital was opened in Tupelo in 1999. NMSH is a facility of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. POSITION SUMMARY: Provides quality care and treatment to adults diagnosed with mental illness, in an acute-care setting. Implements the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment planning, intervention, and evaluation. Actively participates in treatment planning. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED : Current Mississippi (or Compact) RN License is required Experience is not required. Nurse II Second-level Professional Registered Nurse accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. Accountable for reviewing medical records, observing the provision of medical care provided to patients by facility staff, coordinating assessments from other disciplines, incident reporting and investigation, and discharge planning. Oversees and reviews the work and documentation of LPNs, nurse assistants, and other technical personnel. May oversee other RN s on a shift. Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Nurse III Seasoned Professional Registered Nurse accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. Accountable for overseeing more complex or sensitive care, participating as a member of multidisciplinary team providing direct care in a patient care setting, or providing nursing and health services in a public health program. May be responsible for mentoring or directing the work of lower-level employees. May serve as a shift supervisor.
