    Operates heavy equipment

    Essential Functions

    Performs pre-operation inspections of equipment, identifying equipment issues and reporting issues to the Lead Mechanic for repairRefuels equipment and adds fluids as neededEnsures compliance with company policies, safety and maintenance proceduresOperates heavy equipment such as scrapers, wheel type or crawler tractors with a dozer blade, blade or bucket attachment, compactors, roll-off refuse trucks, loaders, motor graders and pneumatic tire scrapersCompiles daily equipment reports consisting of logging the number of loads excavated and the number of hours spent operating equipmentControls well fires by smothering them with dirt, isolating them and/or wetting them with waterCommunicates with dispatchers concerning delays, unsafe conditions, accidents and equipment breakdownsKeeps informed of the weather conditionsDemonstrates continuous efforts to improve operation, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer serviceWorks closely with traffic control spotters to identify fill areas to be used for dumping solid waste.

    Equipment/Tools Used

    Position Summary

    Noble Environmental is seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Maintenance to oversee all fleet and equipment operations across the organization. This executive role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of all company assets, including landfill equipment, heavy machinery, tractors, and refuse collection vehicles. The VP of Maintenance will lead maintenance strategies, optimize asset lifecycle management, and drive operational excellence across multiple sites.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy for all fleet and heavy equipment assets

    · Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and extend asset life

    · Strong knowledge of heavy equipment (e.g., landfill compactors, bulldozers, excavators), tractors, and refuse trucks

    · Proven experience managing multi-site maintenance operations

    · Deep understanding of regulatory compliance (DOT, OSHA, EPA standards)

    · Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and drive organizational change

    · Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and capital planning

    · Experience with CMMS and fleet management software
