Job Title: Data Analyst Location: Washington, DC Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full-time Potential for Telework: offsite work granted in advance in writing by the COR Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Clearable Employee Type: W2 or 1099 Citizenship: US Citizen, no Dual Citizenship NexThreat is seeking an experienced Data Analyst who will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operational execution of cybersecurity analytics, dashboards, and reporting environments supporting DOT OCIO cybersecurity programs. This role translates analytical direction and functional requirements into working data pipelines, visualizations, and metrics used for executive and operational decision-making. Primary Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain cybersecurity analytics and dashboards using Databricks and Power BI • Integrate data from authoritative DOT systems, including SIEMs, CSAM, LMS, and other enterprise data sources • Implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance controls to ensure reporting accuracy • Develop risk, compliance, training, and workforce metrics aligned to NIST CSF and NIST SP 800-53 • Support ingestion and preparation of phishing exercise and training performance data • Produce analytic outputs supporting executive reporting, trend analysis, and situational awareness • Document data flows, data models, transformation logic, and reporting dependencies • Support ad hoc data analysis and briefing material preparation for DOT leadership • Coordinate with the Lead Cybersecurity Specialist to ensure analytic outputs align with policy and risk interpretation Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience) • Minimum 5–7 years of experience performing cybersecurity or enterprise data analytics • Demonstrated experience with Power BI , including semantic models, DAX, and performance optimization • Experience integrating data from multiple disparate enterprise systems • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity concepts, including FISMA, NIST CSF, and NIST SP 800-53 • Experience validating data quality and supporting audit-ready reporting • Ability to communicate analytic findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences Value to NexThreat: This role ensures that cybersecurity, training, and compliance data is accurate, timely, and actionable, enabling DOT leadership to make informed risk and investment decisions while minimizing reporting burden and audit risk.
